Gundam: The franchise known for refining the mecha genre. Typicalls, the strangest that you can get in this series would be Gundam Wing's Upgraded Wing Zero Unit- it actually has feathery angel wings. However, G Gundam breaks the mold. For some unknown reason, the series is structured like a psychidelic tournament fighting game, with gundams competing for the world cup, or something like that. Each nation has a gundam, and each 'bot is completely different... and unique. I have seen the "Tequila" gundam, a Sailor Moon gundam, a Skull gundam (Read: chubby limbs), etc... but nothing has prepared me for this: The MANDOR GUNDAM

As of today, my trust in human anture has waned. The mandor is best described as a robotic jack-in-the-box. It's... weird. Sure, it has more points of articulation than anything else you'll find ina toybox, but *still...* the mandor's Special Feature is the ability to shrink its torso down to its barrel-like roots. It's got fice hands, a four-sectioned staff, a "Ring of Fire," and the overall ability to look insane.

Now, for the Ring of Fire... a reddish-yellow ring of semi-clear plastic, with a red stripe. It looks just enough like a halo that I can fool people (no devil horns here!), and it's just hard enough to kill someone with. Thus, this is a GREAT TOY. Any toy that you can use to end another's life is a GREAT TOY.

Anyway, back to the gundam itself. I can't even describe this thing. WHomever designed the mandor certainly deserves an award- in the from of a straitjacket. if anyone knows how the heck this kind of monstrosity is supposed to hold up in a fight, please go right ahead and tell me. I really, really want to know. it's great, though, and worth it... Dang, its appearance is too funny for me to make any jokes! I'll attach a pic, and provide a link to another (unfortunately scathing) review, that provides even more images.

Help me... I think it's coming for my soul...

Seriously, the stupidity of these Gundams has to be seen to believed. Here's a site with some good pictures of all of them:

Just click on Mobile Fighter G to see them all. Check out Nether Gundam below! He gets my vote for the lamest Gundam design. Other ones that I thought were quite comical were Gundam Zeus (with beard!), Gundam Zebra (with zebra heads as shoulder pads), and Matador Gundam (which is basically just a bull head). Keep in mind that these designs aren't jokes! They're official Gundams!

Gun-damn...

I thought Gundam Skull was pretty cool, though.

Hm... you're right, I think... A female-oriented Gundam is a bit more absurd than having a windmill on its chest. Also, the fact that it mimics another cartoon show.

-Nathan

PS- Would you... with Sailor Gundam... you know. Yoooou know.

I think I would.
