Neat. I've read that article when it was first released and noticed that myself. But that's just because Bandai has put those Godzilla and Ultraman figures to use multiple times for all sorts of toys. The war games, gashapon, Monsters in a Can, the catapault set, boxed sets of minifigures... it goes on and on.

Well, I doubt most of these guys know about it. I happen to be heavy into kaiju, so I pretty much HAVE to know this stuff. Not everyone here is the same. It's useful to bring up for their sake.

I think it's useful. If someone wound up with figures that were this color, they could assume that they were game pieces instead of just capsule figures....Unless the regular capsule figs came in Metallic blue as well....Or are these new games?

THANKS!! I was asking about something similar and from the looks of it, this may have been the base for those figures. When I was a kid (waaay back in the 70's), we used to be able to buy little blue rubber Godzilla, Mothra and other various characters from the local corner store or 'smoke shop' as it was called then. They had parachutes attached to them. The Monsters In My Pocket remind me very much of them.

From what I've read on this board about knock-off's and such, they may have been a knock-off from the pieces for this game.

Thanks again! This is the closest I've been able to find to those elusive little rubber guys.

1980s.

Which means your "parachute" kaiju predate this game by at least a decade. But like I said, Bandai has used and reused these molds for years, for all sorts of toys. I would, however, think that yours attached to a parachute were bootlegs.
