That's been incorrect for a few years now. Of course eBay certainly didn't want to lose out on easy money, and noticed when sellers kept that trick up for so long, so sellers have to pay the same percentage on shipping costs that they do for the item itself in final value fees.

Well, to be fair when shipping a first class package with a few muscles at 3-4oz it is going to cost around $2-$3. And eBay require tracking uploaded within 24 hours for top rated sellers, so shipping without tracking really isn't an option. Lots are usually the best bet for both buyers and sellers.

"That's why I have to sell a single figure for $10!"
Posted 17 August 2017 - 11:23 AM
Shipping a single muscle figure costs $2.61 because you can no longer stuff one in an envelope and go for the first class letter rate of one stamp.
So if you sell a figure for $1 plus $3 shipping, that is $4. Ebay takes .40 cents. Paypal takes .37 cents. shipping costs you $2.61 plus the cost of the mailer, which could be 0 or could be as much as .45 cents. Let's split the difference at .25 cents.
Now let us do the math.
$4
- .40
- .37
- 2.61
- .25
----
.37
Congrats. You just sold a single MUSCLE figure for .37 cents. Not to mention all the time it took to list, sell and process the order.
Moral of the story?
Don;t buy or sell single figures unless it is a high value Class A or unless you are extremely desperate for that last figure.
And that's not even factoring in what you paid for the item.

I only use BIN on eBay,I've never bid on an auction. That being said,I've never bought muscles on there. I need a sunshine and a claw but at those prices forget it. I did get some super7s so sorry if I'm part of the problem.
No need to apologize, especially since your BUYING rather than SELLING. Regardless, everyone has the right to sell or buy on eBay however they like. It has just become sooo one sided as of late. Don't mind me, I'm just an old man sitting on my porch yelling at those damn fool kids doing donuts in the parking lot!

Id be nervous with lots because id assume there were bootlegs mixed in
Well, to be honest, I LOVE lots with bootlegs mixed in. I prefer them actually, as it is much easier to find muscle figures than it is to find cool bootlegs and similar style one off figures. To each their own though! Individual figure buys are great if you are just needing those last few, and you find a seller in a group like this that can help you out with all of them. One shipping charge, and a more realistic price. Heck, even just the single shipping charge makes it better. I posted this because the auctions were drying up...the amount of bid auctions vs BIN style was so skewed it was alarming.
The funny thing is...for the most part, when someone has something rare or valuable in an auction style listing, it usually gets bid up close to the current retail price anyways. The only people that suffer with all the listings being high dollar BIN is the ones that DON'T have any high dollar figures in their lot, but still retain the high dollar price tag due to lack of info on their part, or lack of drive to properly ID what it is they are selling. This makes the next clueless seller copy them, and the next, and the next...and this is what brings us to where we are now. 2000 overpriced Muscle BIN auctions and 75 Bid auctions, both over and under priced.
The snowball effect blows, and people that just buy up anything they can find that they think is "old and valuable" and don't take the time to learn the realities of said finds, blow too. I resale for a living. I ask reasonable prices, and I take the time to know what it is I have, and no one has ever said my stuff is overpriced, or wasn't what I said it was, etc.
If I can do it so can they.
