Sculpt: Very good- in fact, nicely ugly. McFarlane-esquely ugly! He even comes with an :injured head," which looks like its about to explode. His facial expression is perfect, and frankly I can't complain about the guy's ugliness.
Articulation: pretty danged good, as with all Fist of the North Star figures. Making him stand isn't the easiest thing in the world, though.
Paint Job: very good, actually. The repaint uses vibrant colors, and they work (believe it or not). He appears to be sunburned, AND has purple hair! And the bloody head looks nasty, too.
Accessories: Here's where the fun is. Spade comes with two axes, a spear, a combat knife, a wrist-mounted crossbow, an arrow, a smashes-up mask, AND the bloody head! And best of all, he can carry EVERYTHING AT ONCE! Weapons connect to his hands via a peg-hole deal, so they don't have to be in that awkward "holding something" post so common in action figures. He looks GREAT when completely geared up (with the blood head mounted on the spear tip, of course).
Overall: 4.5 out of 5. He's so danged ugly that you've got to love him- the repaint version is kind of rare, though, and I didn't even know that it existed until I saw it! I'm sorry that the pic is so grainy, it really hides the detail on this guy!
