Rubber Dinosaurs. What are they ?

Monster in my pocket type fig

Best Answer fkro6784 , 08 July 2015 - 05:20 PM

The purple one with the number 2 was a premium from a Spanish snack company called Matutano. It comes from a set of 15 figures that look like dinosaur-kaiju hybrids. Here's a pic showing 11 out of the 15. I don't own all these--I grabbed the pics a while back off eBay.

The pink Russ figure is from a set of 6 released in the early 90s. I got some as a kid but I can't remember if they were sold under a specific name. They're sort of like dino-kaiju hybrids too. Below is a pic of the three different sculpts I own. Let me know if you decide to sell/trade your pink guy. I recently decided to collect all 6 sculpts and he's one of the sculpts I still need.

Not in the best condition, just curious to know what these are  :)

I had some info that the 2 Orange & Blue dinosaurs are Diener Erasers.

The 2 green ones (Dark & Light green) are like dino mites but these are a sold figure where dino mites are soft in texture,

All these items are for sale.

Just pm me  :)

Orange & Blue diimetrodons both looks similar to Dieners but are different enough that don't believe they are official Diener.

On the green dimetrodon, I put together a collection of these by scouring dino lots on eBay a few months back without ever ID'ing them. I recently discovered that they're available as "mini dino counters" on Amazon, though they may have been produced and sold under another format many times over previously as some of the ones I have look like they've been around a while.

Not sure on the others, though I feel like I've seen that purple guy in the first set of pics before. (is that the one you're referring to as pink?)

I don't know who made the blue and orange dinos, but it wasn't Diener. I had a Triceratops from this same line, and they are a lower quality than Diener.

The pink dino is cool!
I don't know if the line actually had a name, but I have a purple dino with wings marked Russ that looks very "dragon-ish", and looks as if it is probably from the same line.

The two green figures are simply bootlegs of the original DINO Mites line. The solid green one is likely a Dino Brite, while the clear one's new to me, I only recall solid colors.

The orange Dimetrodon looks like a legit Diener eraser, or at least a bootlegged duplicate of the original. Either is quite common these days. Blue is a definite boot.

I don't recognize the big green Dimetrodon. Someone's definitely stepped up their dinosaur eraser game though. This might be a more modern version by Diener?

No clue on the purple Spinosaurus or the pink Godzilla pretender there, but curious how the latter is definitely by Russ.

That purple dude is amazing. Hopefully someone can identify it so I can hunt one down!

yeah it's really close, but the mouth is wrong. teeth are too well-defined (comparing it to the Diener on my desk)

Answered above, but they're MIMP-esque rubber not eraser.

It's not as if there aren't altered Diener molds out there these days, there's the ones with the legs even closer together for use as pencil toppers, but zooming in, it does look cheaper than Diener's. I keep forgetting to check if I can enlarge pics...

Whoever did those dinosaur counter figures did a nice job. I think I have a yellow mammoth somewhere!

I can attest with bachamn. I remember a few of these explicitly from elementary school in the 1990s that were used as math/counting/learning tools.
