Speak your mind here:  Excited?  Skeptical?  Cautiously optimistic?  Complete ambivalence?

What do you guys think?

Oh - and apparently there has been an update of some sorts that Netflix is refusing to confirm.  However I think that the Wall Street Journal is usually a pretty reliable source lol... that would suck if it turned out that the story is complete BS!

Wow Bach... I had never seen that before.  I'm totally gonna sit down w/ my wife and make her watch the whole series with me.

(she will thank me later)

Looks hilarious!

In the meantime... I'm sure most of you have seen this already, but a couple of years ago IGN.COM did a April Fool's trailer for a Zelda movie, and actually it wasn't half bad.

haha yeah I had actually forgotten about the Legend of Neil until  I saw this post. I watched the whole series a few years ago and it's great. IIRC the fairy is the same actress who played the main girl on The Guild. I kind of want to rewatch it now. Actually just found out that apparently Comedy Central picked up the rights to it at some point; they have it posted on their site as well.

and yeah that IGN trailer was hilarious...and cruel ;)

Ok - now you have given me multiple shows that I know nothing about.  Not familiar with The Guild either.  Stop expanding my horizons!!!!

I realized I didn't express my opinion... I too am cautiously optimistic.  Not only in that it may or may not get made (now that the article is in question), but also in quality.  While I would love to see a Hyrule that looks as cool as the 7 Kingdoms in GOT, I'm not holding my breath.  But in general I feel like more expansion of various Nintendo properties is better than nothing.  I'll always give them a shot!

well, it's easy to miss a web series. I feel like there was some cross-over between the production of those two shows, or in the least the people involved knew each-other. The Guild was basically WoW themed so it was far more popular at the time it was released. Not as good but still a funny little show about a topic you usually don't see covered in traditional TV.

Might be worth watching. I mean can anything be worse then the Mario bros movie.

man, I heard so many bad things about that from my friends when it came out that I never saw it in theaters, and I continue to hear terrible things about it to this day, to the effect that I've still never seen this movie.

Lol... WTF that commercial is hilarious! And long too... I wonder how long the average Japanese commercial is.

As far as the Mrio Bros movie is concerned... Everyone should watch it at least once. It's horrible and wierd... It's kinda like a video game equivilant of Howard the Duck.

Put a red plumber's hat on the duck and have him played by Bob Hoskin's and it would be exactly like that...   ;)

Yeah, it will be interesting... because those shows are drama/ comedy (if you consider OITNB a comedy...) and not much of a genre show.  I'll be curious to see how they deal with the scope/ budget of a fantasy epic like Zelda.  I guess we have seen a little bit of their handling of genre shows with Hemlock Grove.  And of course, maybe even more so once the Marvel shows roll out.

Totally agree, especially about House of Cards. Love that show. Have you seen Marco Polo? Might be a bit closer to the style of show even though its historical fiction not fantasy. Ive seen a few episodes and its very well made.

I just started watchin Marco Polo, my GF loves it so I had to check it out. I would love to see TLOZ as more of an adult oriented show, dark even.

I wonder if it will be a new story, or based on a game storeyline?

Good question, sometimes the whole Zelda thing can be a little convoluted.  I agree... although I doubt it will happen (because Nintendo seems to keep things from getting to dark more often than not) I would love to see a darker storyline.  Who knows, maybe in an effort to create unity - there could be some tie in story wise to the NEW Zelda that comes out at the end of the year.  But of course there was no date attached to the article, so if this really happens, we might be 2 years off.

I remember when I finished playing Windwaker... I couldn't believe how dark that was (DUDE!  I just plunged a SWORD into GANNON'S HEAD!), especially considering that the tone of the entire game seemed much more kiddie.

Oh wow - wouldn't be awesome if they had some success with this and did a bunch of Nintendo properties (similar to what they are doing with the 4 new Marvel Netflix shows), I would LOVE to see a live action METROID!

PF

OH - and I forgot to respond... I have NOT seen Marco Polo.  I have heard good things though.  We might try that after we finish Magic City (now that it's available).
