Recently came across a post on Instagram from a Spanish collector showing the Battle Beasts Tiger* with at first glance glow in the dark details. Here: https://www.instagra.../p/C_klJx2NGIZ/

Luckily the description that came with the post was clear and it turns out that the details glow/reflect due to the use of an UV / Blacklight.

I´ve seen and learned quite a bit about the Beasts over time but my first reaction to this was ¨I´ll be dammed¨ lol and obviously had to test it myself.

Amazing, right?

Never knew about this and it´s an interesting gimmick that´s now ¨unlocked¨ because it are not only the Tigers that show this reflection but many more Beasts. Not surprisingly I also checked the Rabbits.

But there are many more and rather extreme ones like Brown Lion;

Wondered how he came to find out because there are days in my life I don´t shine a blacklight on every item I can think of but apparently he tried to use this blacklight / UV light in order to attempt to ¨Unyellow¨ a Clear Carp. That didn´t work but it resulted in this interesting discovery.

Guess if you´re a Battle Beasts collector it´s time to get yourself a Blacklight and find out yourself!

Might be an idea to get yourself some unique decoration just in time for Halloween lol

Enjoy the Beasts!

* The Tigers used here that glow/reflect, and also in the Instagram post from the Spanish collector, are the normal Common BB Tigers the BDC Version doesn´t seem to have this effect due to the use of a different paint.

I too saw that post in Instagram! Pretty cool stuff :)

I'm not familiar with how the UV light actually cause the neon colorization, like, is there other variables than base color hue/lightness, but gotta try this on my beasts and other figures if I ever buy an UV light.

https://science.hows...black-light.htm

It´s probably got something to do with the presence of phosphorous levels in the paint, or anything else within the paint that´s causing this.

There are rumors about the paint that´s used for the BB back in China and that they´re not really the most healthy ones when being applied so this might be related to this.
