Figured I'd start with him since he came to mind first. I like the red look, bald & with a broken horn soooo I combined those elements for my first Mighty Mugg custom. Not sure if all those elements went together on any Kinnikuman episode or not.
OK this would be my first venture into any type of DIY toy stuff. I knew if I tried to mimic the Mighty Mugg paint style it would look forced & not come out too great so I decided to just go for it & do it in my own style & see what happens.
These are some early progress shots after sculpting, base coat, main red coat, and initial paint application. I'll hit it again tomorrow as I work on painting Scorpion & 1 or 3 custom M.U.S.C.L.E.s!

OK if anyone is interested in getting any of these for between $30 to $40 each let me know & I'll pick up more while they're still available...

I have 3 on hand now & will be doing these up, but if people want to see these guys around I can pick up some more if they're still at the store, let e know & I'll run out with the other last minute nuts when I wake up!

i have a few blank Munny's i was planning on whipping up, then i got lazy, a 7" and a couple 4". I was thinking a Kinnikuman for the bigone and making a satan cross with the 2 little ones. im sure that will neve happen though.

This first one was a bit of work.... probably mostly in problem solving so they should go quicker in the future if people end wanting more done.

That's pretty sweet, even though I really don't dig the Mighty Muggs line. A SC would work well though, as he has a helmet that would fit the "mugg" head.

There has got to be some way for you to sketch up these layout without having to actually paint the Mugg. That way you could get an idea beforehand which design would be popular.

That is a cool idea.... the only problem I foresee is really cool designs that I can't quite live up to

For now I have this Buffaloman that I really like & would have no problem adding to my collection like a few other choice customs I held back.

Up next I have:

1) Satan Cross

2) Cthulhu

3) Sunigator (Claw form)

We'll have to see how that last one works... kinda stretching the ol imagination on that one.

After that... if there are any left around here & I'm not burnt out on these little guys... might try that out.

Alright... these guys were a lot more work than the first one I did.... but I will stick with the cost range I put up initially with these 2 & the other one I'm working on. If I wind up doing any more they will either have to be on commission or for auction or something. They are a heck of a lot of fun.... but a heck of a lot of work.

Thanks..... yeah.... that much extra sculpting would bring the project cost up way too much to stick within my $30 - $40 range.... & I wanted to pull these off with as little sculpting a possible to stay within the Mugg format. Lets say if they were popular & had no problem moving... I would go that far. Man this was a pain as it was though.

Nice job on the Claw. I did'nt think a Claw Mugg was possible. You should have no trouble selling it to someone *cough cough*. The rest I might even try putting on ebay.

Luke, You my friend are beyond awesome. These are absolutely amazing!!! I love the Claw one, when you first posted this topic, I was thinking "Nah, no way you could make a claw one that kept the mugg feel and look good" and I have to say, I was waaaaaaaaaaaay wrong. That is just brilliant, it looks wonderful. The SC one turned out wonderful too. You are effing awesome!!!

Wow... thanks for all the kind words guys! I've been wanting to dabble in these for awhile, but every time I see 'em at a good clearance price I have no money... well finally! These are a lot of fun & total diversion from anything I normally do so it took some getting used to starting with a flat surface.


I didn't think the claw would ever work either, actually gave up before I even really looked. When I ran back to pick up a few more after I did the first one & it was so much fun.... I saw the Asajj one with no legs but a solid base like a skirt... it all came together & I knew I had to try.

Think I got it out of my system unless I run across some more on clearance around here then I might do a couple more. Kinda want a Cthulhu myself & might throw one on eBay to see what kind of response I get.

Have you seen the mini muggz? I think those are cool, and a little more affordable since you get three vs one. I am really impressed with the SC and Claw one. Trying to see how I can work them into my budget. Things are tight now witht he new one and the recent move. Hope you are still willing to produce some in a month or so haha.

Well Jay bought the claw... although I could do another if I can find some more to work with. SC is still hangin out & yeah I wanted to pick up a set of minis to do a Meat if nothing else.
