The back of the package says 1990. Everything is still attached to the card and the package is in GREAT shape. There is a little dent on the bubble of the plastic on the front - just over to the left, but otherwise a REALLY nice package.

I've always been tempted to open it just to see what 24 year old silly putty looks like.

If you want it - it's yours for only $5.50 + whatever shipping is. I ASSUME S&H will be $2.50, but not sure on this one.

Silly Putty has interesting properties. Since it's dilatant, it will reabsorb any degradation. It's pretty likely that silly putty 24 or even 50 years old will be just as vital as brand new off the shelf examples.

I don't consider myself an expert on the stuff, but did a lot of work with it, both scientifically, and recreationally in college. Mostly because me and a bunch of friends bought a five pound block of it because it was super cheap (at the time) on the Dow website.

If interested, the product's scientific name is 3179 Dilatant Compound.
