How did this go for those of you who ordered a bunch of sets?
Mine got returned to Violence Toys for some reason and hopefully they'll be re shipped tomorrow. This always seems to happen to me whenever I'm forced into priority mail - I end up being last to receive my stuff.

Glad they finally made it to you. Another set with the same color assortment as mine. Interesting how almost all of us who were sent preview sets got this exact color assortment.
Cheers. Yep first thing I checked against your pics when I got mine.

I'm still curious what the people who ordered 8+ sets ended up with.
I really love this set. Is it too soon to say I hope they continue with it?
My melty looking dude doesn't stand though, anyone else having that issue with him?

What conclusion should we draw from observing that the blister packs are twice the cost of Motuscle for the same number of figures and similar packaging? Are they twice as cool? Twice as creative? Somehow twice as expensive to make? Is one overpriced or is the other underpriced?
I'm sure Motuscle are produced in larger quantities and probably get a better price from the factory because of it.
It's probably this, OR Violence Toy is paying out more to their designing artists?
I don't think it's necessarily something to get ludibrious about. It's still a good price for a well-packaged indy-run minifigure line.

Yeah, plus in my opinion the quality of the sculpts are far ahead compared to the second series of MOTU.

I don't think they are really after the same market.
The SUPER7 stuff is a true mass market product and that particular series is based off the amazingly popular he-man license. The Gorelords are an original line with some of the figures based off full size independent vinyl figures. Those big figures are often painted by hand and released is runs that don't break single digits as far as production. So it's really difficult to compare the two lines even if they are made and packaged in a similar fashion. Lots of the indie toy makers here do tiny runs of rubber/resin mini-figures and charge 10 to 20 bucks each which we know is fair based off time/effort/cost involved.

Not just that, but all the costs involved in development are going to be absorbed into the final price. The more you make the less it's going to be noticed. Also, assuming the same company are producing the packaging for their muscle lines as the rest of their stuff then they're probably not just getting a discount on the amount of packaging they're ordering for those, but also some sort of discount because of the amount of stuff they order overall.

They are selling master sets now for 320 bucks. Kind of kills the whole chase aspect of the line for me.

I can see where you're coming from. Though it's good for them because people who want a master set can get it easier than buying several packs. It might make them less money, but it builds a good reputation.

The Toms, Dicks and Harrys that you talk about are people who have put a lot of time and effort into their IG accounts and have themselves often sent out lots of free toys via contests and giveaways, as well as shared and promoted other people's work to their followers.

Yeah, that's pretty much how promotion's worked for basically ever. It's really no different from what all record labels, game publishers, movie studios and the like do all the time. The best way to get some good press is to give your product to people who have big audiences in the hope they say nice things about it.

Yeah it goes both ways. Imagine how you'd feel if you spent a few hundred bucks trying to build a master set over the last few weeks and now you see master sets for sale. I always enjoyed the trading aspect of mini-figure lines especially when you don't have "rare" figures to deal with.
Though I would love to find a bunch of people to toss money in to buy a master set that we split so each person gets one color. So if 8 people here want all 12 figures in one color it would be like 35 or 40 bucks each. I want magenta or light blue.
