I was in the area of Dollar Tree today so I decided I'd stop in to see if they had any new cheapo toys worth picking up...and they did! Behold "Braindead Zombies." These guys are about the size of a SLUG Zombie (maybe a bit bigger), glow-in-the-dark and grow when you put them in water. I've never been big on toys with the growing gimmick, but these were too cool to pass up. I'm assuming the three shown below make a complete set, because those are the only sculpts they had. My favorite is the guy in the middle with the huge bulbous head and gaping mouth.

The back of the package is marked with "2013 Inspirefly Toys LLC." Looks like they were "inspired" by SLUGs with the design, with the little brain in the corner and everything.

Fun stuff!

F#CKING "ZOMBIE CROISSANT"

For real, though... I wouldn't mind having these guys if they were outright rubber...

Hahaha French zombies...

Yeah, shame about the grow material. I bought a set to open and a set to keep sealed since that material isn't made to last.

Somebody could always boot them in rubber, though. It wouldn't be that hard, though probably not cost effective. haha

My girl grabbed me the guy on the left at a dollar tree.
I'm not too fond of the grow gimmick either but these are super cool for a dollar!
Mine will stay carded :)

The thought of someone potentially booting them in rubber actually crossed my mind as well. I don't know how many people would be interested in them, but they'd actually be pretty awesome done up that way, I think. Not sure if the fact that they're currently been produced/sold would cause any issues though.

Here's a shot of them loose:

I saw these on ebay over the weekend, glad I didn't bid the 10.00 for the 3. I suspected they might be a dollar store find. Which dollar tree did you snag yours at?

West burbs, the one in Countryside. That's the only one I have checked so far but I'd imagine they have them at others.

Hello!

I was at my local Dollar Tree yesterday and found these same figures without the painted clothes.  I know it has been some time since this post was created, but there may be those who are still interested.

I saw the unpainted versions as well, at the same Dollar Tree where I originally got the ones with painted clothes. They only had a few left though, and only 2 out of the 3 sculpts. I guess for the more recently produced ones they decided to go mono.

I would love to get my hands on a set of the painted figures. My Dollar Tree has a bunch of the unpainted, so if anyone wants to trade, I'll be happy to pick up a set.

When I get a chance I'll go back and grab some. Are you just interested in unpainted? Painted? Both?

I would like both if possible, unpainted being my top choice.

Hello again!

I went out Zombie huntin' today at my two local Dollar Trees.  Unfortunately, they are completely empty.  They may be stocking some more in the weeks to come, but hopefully some other guys here can help out their fellow collectors.  It would be great for us to pull together and fight against these little green men...

If I get my hands on any more, I'll post again.  :)

Finally got back around to mine - they're out too. It seems like they shift through merch pretty quickly there.

Sorry, Meat.  <_<
