In the 80's times were tough growing up. Sob story aside, every now and then my mother scraped a few extra dollars and I could choose a toy or something with those few dollars. I liked quirky stuff (like muscle figures) and collected about 30 of em over time. Just found my "collection ". I never even knew the back story, just liked the crazy bastards. Looked them up,lo and behold found an official site. That's when i found out about "the claw"(purple,not grape). I live a broken life and will be happy to part with it..btw are there really only 15 of them in known collecting community? Thanks

Hi,

If you have a legitimate purple claw, congrats!

Best bet would be to throw it on ebay with lots of good clear pictures.

However, you are a new member advertising a high value item, so don't be surprised if people are very skeptical.

If you do post it on ebay, please post the link here so we can see it.

Yep, looks like a purple Claw to me, but I'm no expert.  Maybe you dyed it using Kool-Aid!!   :lol:

 

If it's the real deal, enjoy the windfall -- maybe make a mortgage payment or two, down payment on a new vehicle, throw a neighborhood boozer,  etc.

I'm going to go ahead and throw out there that a count of (15) for Purple Claws is probably not accurate. I've watched several pop up each year for the 4 or so years that I've been paying attention.

Fact is that a purple claw is worth $300-$400 at the low end and $700-$1000 at the high end.

If you eBay it, you'll get a nice chunk of change for it. You can then use that to buy what you are looking for instead of trying to find someone willing to ship hundreds of dollars of stuff to someone who has no reputation here on the board.

You may be 100% legit, I'm not saying you aren't.
But people are very skeptical because of the sheer amount of fraud that has been perpetrated over the years, especially when a new person comes on board and has a ton of high value stuff to trade..

Also, look at it on the flip side. If you did work out a trade, since you have no previous reputation, you might be asked to ship your side first before they ship theirs. Do you really want to take that chance with someone that you don't know?
