I'm reviving this thread to become the main discussion area for all things Kaiju Kaos: Smackdown... my designer/art toy tabletop game.

 

Acheson Creations and Bailey Records have teamed up for the Kaiju Kaos: Smackdown Kickstarter. The project launched on January 17th and runs until 3:30pm Eastern on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

 

I unleashed Kaiju Kaos - The Miniatures Game on the public in May 2011 with downloadable rules and stats at WargameVault.com and official miniatures at AchesonCreations.com. Fast-forward to July 2012 when I decided I wanted to take Kaiju Kaos into the designer toy market with original minifigure designs that are fully compatible with the regular line of metal and resin gaming miniatures. It was at that time that I commissioned the super-talented Steven Patt of Papagrim Toys to create the initial set of minifigs, and consequently, Kaiju Kaos: Smackdown was born.

 

It is my hope that this project will appeal to both the gaming community that birthed Kaiju Kaos and also the designer toy community that has already embraced Kaiju Kaos: Smackdown in its limited release.

 

Each design is handmade and ready to hand-cast in durable urethane plastic by Acheson Creations. Each will be made in a Kickstarter-exclusive Vivid Slime green color that looks fantastic straight out of the moulds but can also be easily primed and painted for personalization. Over the past year I have commissioned additional designs to round out our initial 12 characters presented in this project. Each sculpt is approximately 50mm tall and is able to be placed on a 40mm round base for game play. Your support will enable us to take these sculpts and put them into production.

 

Every supporter of this project will be able to choose exactly which characters you want from “The Twelveâ€￾ shown in the video and photo. Designs can be chosen in any combination from 1 of each to an army of 12 of the same sculpt, or something in-between. You decide!

I posted Update #3 regarding Stretch Goal #1 this morning.

 

 

How to obtain Bokrsat: If we reach our goal of $1,800.00, this project will be funded and production of "The Twelve" will get underway. However, if we hit our goal it doesn't mean we need to stop raising money. Enter the Stretch Goals! If we raise an additional $200.00 over our $1,800.00 goal, Bokrsat will be Unlocked from his watery prison and unleashed on the masses! 

 

Once Unlocked, he will be thrown into the collective "choice pool" and backers may choose to add him to their rewards instead of a different character. Or, if you are one of the many who has pledged $70.00 or more, you will be able to add Bokrsat to your rewards for free! Your initial pledge to receive 12 minifigures will be bumped up to receiving 13 of your choice!

 

Like all the others, Bokrsat will be cast in the Kickstarter-exclusive Vivid Slime green resin.

A quick update: We're currently at 32 backers with over 12 days to go. If we can reach 50+ backers, we will give away a Kickstarter-exclusive transparent green Cryos the Ice Monster figure to everyone who pledges $10 or more toward our $1800.00 goal. We gave away the same figure, in transparent blue, in our Fantasy Worlds Kickstarter this past autumn. If each of the 18 new backers (to reach 50) pledged at least $18, they would receive 3 figures (2 of their choice and the bonus ice monster) and we would meet out project goal.
