Thought I would post it her, since you guys seemed to be the ones who took the brunt of his idiocy (besides the mods).

Anyways, Brojo (MonsterInMyPocket) was warned that if he got anymore complaints that he would get his account and all his posts deleted. Normally I don;t delete posts of people who are banned, but since his were essentially worthless (although you couldn't tell him that) I figured it would be a good deterrent for him.

He calmed down for a bit, but then started up again. So I PNG'd him (persona non grata'd) instead of a full out ban and delete, also removing his viewing rights to this section. Apparently he didn;t like that and asked that I follow through with my promise to delete him and his content.

And thus, Brojo is no more.

You might find a few topics in this section that are a little funky, because they are missing posts, but it's not like you are missing anything anyways.

Good bye Brojo, hope your ego can fit through the door on the way out!

I can't say I'll miss the guy. I can say a lot of other stuff though. ;)

I noticed posts of his gone in other forums, at a glance. But in this one, they still seem to exist as guest posts instead. Like the MIMP trade sticky or the end of pages three and four of the MIMP subforum.

Anything that was in his "MonsterInMyPocket" account got deleted. If he has a few stragglers left around from previous accounts, I'm not going to worry about them.

That's a relief. He mailed me a handful of marked up & even enamel painted MiMP before the first banning. I thanked him & offered to paint one up in return for his "generosity".... kind of a mistake as I found out. He said no thanks.. but if I wanted to he would ship me a different sculpt for me to paint for him. I said sure no problem. Well some time went by & then he was banned. Then he came back & mailed the figure out of nowhere & wanted my email address as all the pics for reference he had were too much hassle to PM... Guess I waited out long enough huh? Just seemed odd that he wanted my personal email & was kind of insistent about it.

I have no problem giving out my email or even my phone number to you guys... heck ask Battlechaser, we talk on a fairly regular basis. But.... this guy was being kinda creepy & I feel relieved that I don't have to deal with his crap anymore.

Just my 2¢..... kinda had to get that out.

But please don't misunderstand for the most part this place is full of great people & I love buying/selling/trading with you guys & I have a blast here... when things aren't too crazy in "real life"

Thanks again,

Luke

I think it stinks to be honest. The guy very obviously has Asperger's or some similar disorder, but hardly anyone made any allowances for it. You even had moderators openly calling him pinhead on the forum.

In some ways I'm glad he's gone as people mocking the disabled is something I can do without seeing when I log on here to discuss something as downright trivial as toy collecting.

What about personal responsibility?

My son had his lunch taken away & not replaced at school one day because he had a PB & J..... 1 kid in the class has an allergy. There wasn't a no peanut rule spelled out to the class. My son went without lunch because they had to make an "allowance" for the kid with the peanut allergy.

Not everything is a disorder or an illness & behavior cannot be excused because of a label.

I was patient with him & willing to finish up with my end of the bargain. Was I supposed to make a "special allowance" for his otherwise creepy & disturbing behavior because he had some kind of social issue? How about try being responsible for your own actions instead of blaming a disorder making it ok?

Hell my brother had major epileptic seizures for a good 3 years early in life. He missed 3 years of development. That wasn't easy to deal with as we were quite young at the time. He had to wear a helmet for most the time during that period of his life. My parents researched every possible avenue to get him treated. Also did our best to give him a normal life not knowing if things would ever be different. Nobody just let him do whatever he wanted & made special allowances for him. Sometimes he was made fun of (even by cousins) & he had to learn how to fight back. I flattened a couple of people in his defense when we were younger... but I wonder what kind of milktoast asshat he would be today if we all made allowance for him & kept him in a bubble?

Hell I was picked on a lot early in life cause I was a skinny little twerp & kinda socially pinheaded. Sure am glad nobody shielded me from that or I might not have made it at all in the real world.

You don't always have to be ultra sensitive to one's feelings. Sometimes one should try their best to make things work with what they have been dealt. Might make a stronger person.

In some ways I'm glad he's gone as people mocking the disabled is something I can do without seeing when I log on here to discuss something as downright trivial as toy collecting.

As I mentioned to him in my last email, he had more complaints by other users than did all other users combined. He was taking up so much free time from the mods, who had to end up dealing with it almost every day. We have ALL been extremely patient with him, but in the end he refused to get along with everyone, and thus got run off.

It all comes down to the fact that this board is run by volunteers who have much more important things to do in life than deal with users who get an insane amount of problem reports by other members.

As far as having a legit mental disability? I don't think so.

Bro, you just don't KNOW how many hours we put into trying to get him to stop pissing off everyone else. He was getting reports from the get go.

Not everything.

As a guy that has that...I can say you probably can't blame the way he acted on that. If anything I'd say more obsession with this stuff and wanting to be "the be all to end all" for collecting these things, but then again a lot of us have been there too and handled it far better.

I've no doubt whatsoever that he caused a lot of work for the moderators, and it's your forum, you can do what you want.

I do, however, believe people should have been more understanding about what appear to be some quite serious mental issues that the fellow has.

I see you doubt that he had a mental disorder; well, he never mentioned it, but I have seen this kind of behaviour a couple of times from Asperger's sufferers, and I would be shocked if he wasn't suffering from that or something similar. He ticks all the boxes for it.

I'm not saying you shouldn't have got rid of him, in fact that's usually the way these things pan out even when you do try to accommodate it, but there could be a bit more compassion. If someone has a mental disability it's not really their fault.

I don't know what went in private, but it seems kinda lame.
I never saw him talk religion or politics.
He had alot of knowledge that ranged from amazing to redundant. Some of his deleted posts will be missed.
As for trading and general flaky-ness? It would seem he was always upfront at this possibility. Enter if ye dare.

I am not looking to make friends or enemies with this post. I have my share of admin and mod drama on my own forums, and if I made a similar announcement I would hope it would warrent anybody and everybodies 2 cents.
Carry-on

**edit** Why couldn't the obvious haters just have clicked ignore user in their personal controls?

I'm not complaining about him being banned, although I personally never had any issues with him and I will miss him, it was people calling him a pinhead I had a problem with, along with the general idea that he was some kind of inveterate trouble-causer when it seemed patently obvious that he couldn't really help the way he was.

Seriously, nobody honestly thinks anyone posts like that deliberately, do they?

Ok, you're wrong. :(

Seeing what went on behind the scenes, I would have to say that SS65 got the brunt of the "Reported Posts" that we got about Brojo. Compound that over a quite a few months, and you have what may appear as a personal beef, but is really just someone sick of having to deal with a poster's crap.

Brojo was told time and time again, and his words, were "I don't care what other people think about me." Yet, he would always come running when someone called him out over it on the board.

Strontium, if I thought Brojo had a legit mental illness, I would agree with you. But what I saw was 100% personality/attitude issues.

Really? Where might you be talking about? He posts just the same way as he did here on CTL and the MIMP Yahoo Group.

Like I said, in Private was just That. Nobody but the affected know what that was all about.
As an observer it really looked like SS65 jumped at the opportunity to play devils advocate with Brojo.
I imagine you made this thread not only to announce, but to support your actions or the thread would have been locked. :(
I said "tell me I'm wrong" not in defiance but more of a real question? Thanks for supporting your answer anyways.

If irritated beyond belief counts as a public beef, then I'll cop to that. Up until Fuzzbuster's appointment a while back, I've been the only active referee on the forum for a long while. Everytime someone clicks on a post to report it, it doesn't go to jkaris, Tortle, sborders, or when he was a global mod, General Veers. They all came to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to look at something a member feels is an issue. But when it's 5+ complaints a day all regarding the same user, it gets old, fast. Now, compound that with the refusal to address the issues time and time again, whether it be instruction from me, jkaris, or the other global mods. There were days where I did the internet equivalent of screaming, cursing, and kicking the dog out of frustration to the other moderators. Thankfully with the appointment of Fuzzbuster to the referee position, he took some of the weight off of me.

Google his name and moniker, you'll find a few other boards.

And social networking sites.

i've always had good experiences with brojo. we had a small misunderstanding over something stupid, but we cleared that right up. he may be unusual in some sense, but i agree that if people had a problem with him they could have simply ignored him. that function isn't there just to look at, you can use it.

while he and i have common interests outside of toy collecting, my reluctance to start a mimp collection has kept me out of the drama that he allegedly started in those subforums. and it sounds like he decided to leave. i'll still have contact with him, i guess it just won't be through this site. oh well.

To add to what others have said before in S5's defense, isn't it obvious that he was a complete terror to the mods given that he would constantly get in spats with General Veers when he was a mod. When he stopped becoming a mod, all of a sudden it stopped, because it wasn't personal to Veers he was doing a job. With S5 too, he never had a beef with Brojo, it started when brojo came back and S5 had to take the complaints this time instead of Veers, so 'magically' S5 becomes an enemy of Brojo.
