Here is a shorter alternative (75mm vs 100mm).

Which one is cheaper? :)

I'm guessing most of the distribution will be done online, so heck, maybe take a cue from Doughty and just bag the things. I'd rather see you keep some extra cash so you can put it toward a future series, unless of course you're going for brick-and-mortar distribution, in which case I vote big box. (Gotta catch the eyeballs on the shelf.)

Hi, new to the site and really impressed with what I'm seeing of RotB so far. I'm looking to put in a pledge at the $45+ level to qualify for the brown lion, but I don't really fancy the mono versions so is there any way I can get 2 coloured sets as a package price or will I have to run to $60 for the coloured set twice? I'm in the UK and would probably be sorting out someone from the Transformers boards over here out with the second set of 4 either for cheaps or as a gift. Also I presume that 9 figures in total would have the same international shipping ($20) as the mono and colour set, correct?

Jon do you think that you will be able to add pic of prototypes before the end of the Kickstarter project ? I'm sure those would have a positive impact and help to reach the $11 000 needed.

Yes, I am hoping to have pictures of the actual samples from the factory before Kickstarter ends. Also, I should have some pics of the original prototype (seen in the video) in various color schemes within a week or less.

waaaaghlord, welcome to the board!

To pledge for 2 colored sets, shipped to the UK, pledge at the $30 level but change your pledge amount to $70. That would cover the two painted sets, the golden lion and and extra $10 for UK shipping. :)
Once you do this, message me from Kickstarter and I will make a note on your pledge.

Same price. The larger one (100mm) was the first draft I made. But after talking to the guys at P!, they said the tallest figure would be 65mm, so I shrunk the box down to 75mm.

Not so much a player these days, but I do still paint and am chipping away at a Bad Moon force among other projects. I've been using the name for about 10 years on various sites, old habits die hard I guess.

We are at $4812 with 13 days to go. However, we have a few people on the fence in regards to the $1100 and $1500 levels. If all 3 pledge, we will be at $8500 and I am pretty certain the momentum will carry us past the $11000 level.

The $1100 pledge level is a sweet deal if you have the cash. Very surprised nobody has bitten on that one yet.

I agree.

I wanted to publically say that I would have done it, but I received zero feedback regarding my question. I took it as a sign that UofM readers aren't Battle Beast/He-Man fans. The Epilogues are some of the most heavily read posts on my site. If people didn't care enough to say anything, then they probably won't care enough to buy from me either.

Sorry Jon.

Sometimes YOU have to bring the people to you. If you purchase a customized version of a figure and offer it to your followers, they will buy it. Sometimes people don't know what they want and you have define their interests for them. It worked in Field of Dreams. It worked when Kennedy proposed sending a man to the moon. And it will work when you announce a custom ROTB figure for UofM.

I think your question got lost in the Epilogue. Maybe you should ask it separately.

I understand your thinking and I don't necessarily disagree. However, ROTB falls just a bit outside MUSCLE. It's painted and articulated. Those aren't deal breakers for me, but they are different from MUSCLE. An investment of $1100 is a big one when I'm not sure if it is too different.

I think your question got lost in the Epilogue. Maybe you should ask it separately.

That was kind of my goal. I had to feel comfortable with some kind of pulse check for people reading UofM. How closely are people looking? Would one person see it and mention it to other people? Would it be brought up here?

I felt the answers to those questions were all negative. Great product, but maybe not right for UofM?

Fair play if you figure UoM is the wrong vendor for these, but I have to agree to the 'bring the people to you' sentiment. Any and all folks who go for the $1100 pledge can expect me to come to them for a set of their exclusives. If I had the capital to drop and a solid distribution other than ebay I'd be all over it myself. I crunched the numbers today and selling at $25 per set you'd be more than doubling your outlay in a 6 month turnaround with only 125 units to shift. Those are pretty solid numbers really.

Sure, if they are all sold. But, I think the overlaying theme is, Veers felt that there wasn't enough interest to put his money into it.
I mean... that should be good enough, without all of the ancillary debate.

Unless he can find another party that would want to go half on it, that is a lot to drop on something that might grow on people after the fact.

Would be curious to see the reaction they might garner at a local Con that's coming up next week, but without some physical examples it might be tough to wrangle em in.
