Anybody have available information or can direct me to information regarding creating battle beasts from scratch? Meaning, not cutting and attaching parts, but sculpting from scratch? I'm just curious how people are able to make such exact clean lines in sculpting armor and details?

I'm pretty sure you could do it with a Roland Milling device and make the designs on the computer. It would take a lot of money for the equipment and a lot of time learning the software but would be a lot of fun. http://www.rolanddga.com/products/3d/
You could also sculpt by hand with an artist resin for much cheaper, and make reusable molds.
Or you can just make rough one offs out of sculpty or femo.

If you can swing the software and create 3D custom designs most libraries have 3D printers and even the software all free to use all you need to do is pay for materials to print with. If it is free it is the best. Anyhow you can do a 3D scan and customize it from there digitally or Scan and print it and then add/take away from it. Makes the process allot easier in terms of getting size and proportions right.
Public librabries are really upgrading, you can even get video games there now. At least in my neck of the woods you can.
