I've got a few... and for the most part I have been buying them from Godaddy.com over the years.  But I wanted to see if anyone else had a cheaper option for buying several years in advance?

 

There are many places to go that have pretty cheap 1st or 2nd year, but then the renewals kick your @$$.  Opinions?  Options?  What say you LRG crowd?

I use Directnic. Not as cheap as GoDaddy, but a lot more user friendly.

Oh I wasn't just buying them for shits and giggles lol... in this case it was going to be a balloon related blog/ site.  I've never purchased them blasé... it was only with the intent of using them.  For example the madcapballoons.com site.  However, in this case, what I was attempting to do was save some $ by buying several years up front.  The renewal fees on can really nickel and dime you, so I like buying something up front, y'know?

 

Now, I do know folks that buy domain names like lotto tickets hoping that some big company is going to want to buy the domain from them, but that's not what I was doing.  (and I've always thought the chances of that sort of thing happening really slim... )
