Wow!

We somehow managed to not only get nominated for the 2014 Poppies Awards, but make it to the final cut in the Designer/Vinyl Toys category!
http://www.mwctoys.c...spicks_2014.htm

Looking at the other entries, I don’t think our chance of winning is very high, ha ha! But being considered as part of that group of finalists is quite a compliment!!!

So to whomever nominated us, thank you! If you’d like to vote, please see the link above.

This is pretty cool and exciting! Hopefully the added exposure translates into a larger following for the line!

Divide & conquer works because of attachments people make to push-button issues, individual "leaders," parties, clans, tribes, policies, or agendas, leaving them open to manipulation.

Jkaris, Congrats!!! Hoping you do well!!

On a side note, is it just me, or should they really have a mini-figure category? They have building figures, and figures under 5", but those won't fit the large number of really fantastic minifigures being released.

That would be awesome if they had a more diverse category for mini-figures or just something to break out the indie stuff from the corporate stuff.

I was wondering who won and was extremely surprised to find out that we took 3rd place!!! With all the cool stuff in the category we were in, I didn't even think we would be close. But we took 3rd in the Peoples Picks!!!

Thank you!!!!

Best Designer/Vinyl
Funko is clearly dominating this category these days. It's hard to ignore the work they are doing, and collectors have gone nuts for their Pop! vinyl figures from every license on the planet. But they had some very stiff competition.

There's some real little guys out there in this category, and one of them grabbed the bronze with 13% of the vote. The Cahrive figure is produced by Plastic Imagination using the Glyos system, and was a line generated through Kickstarter. One of our judges really loved the concept, and ensured that they made it on the ballot. Good thing too - lots of fans got out and voted.

Second place goes to another little company, Blind Mouse. I loved their Dredd Cosplay Penguin, and so did 28% of the voting populace. It's great to see these less well known figures making a splash.

Funko grabbed the gold though, getting 34% of the votes for one of their more popular releases this year - Baby Groot! Yep, we've already said it - GoTG was a fantastically popular movie, Groot was a fantastically popular character, and let's face it...the baby Groot is just so damn cute. (photo courtesy Funko).

Again, thank you!!!!!

AWESOME!

Personally I'm not a fan of Funko's POP! figures... I find them to have terrible quality control, half the ones I see in stores have mispainted eyes and thinly applied paint! Boo!
