i didn't really think this "trend" would appeal to me, until i saw some "gundam: mini figure selection" series two at my local importer.

these are the three i have so far.

and, yes - i dunno how rare they are, but purely by luck of the draw, i got the color variants shown for those two on either end. lucky me.

the plastic is sorta' flimsy, and the guns on the gelgoog and sazabi are prone to drooping. the re-gz is odd, too. i'm not sure if it was intentionally posed this way, but it's leaning backwards at a really strange angle.

i think i saw some other bottle-top figures on robotube's site, and the "toyfair 2003" mantaro exclusive that's been floating around seems to fit into this trend. anyone else picked up anything of this sort?

I really dig Gundams, but I just can't seem to get too interested in all these bottle-top figures that are all the rage right now.

i saw these really awesome 'anomoly' ones at this place called s.h.o.c.c. comics, before it closed down...
the series had the hanging man from the wizard of oz,
mutilated cows,
grey men, green men, and all sorts of weirdness... there were like 30 or 40 different ones. hell, they even had a jackalope one!
funny stuff. if i had known that the place was closing down, i would have bought a set...
knowing my luck, i'll never be able to find those things again. i can't even remember what they are called! :o

Those Star Wars bottle-top figures look pretty cool. The only ones I don't really like are the busts. I've never been a big fan of busts let alone little tiny bottle cap sized busts.

I agree the busts are done well. They just aren't my thing. The Jaba bottle cap figure caught my eye, too. Very ambitious to try and stick him on a single bottle cap base. :D

Here’s another pic for this discussion. It’s is the arena from Episode II, and it holds all of the Episode II bottle tops.

Also here’s a little more information about the tops.

Pic 1 = This is series 2 of the Episode II promotion. These are based on A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.
Pic 2 = This is series 1 of the Episode II promotion. This has figures and busts of only AOTC characters.
Pic 3 = This is the tops from the Episode I promotion.

I hope you guys like seeing this stuff.

Thanks for the pics, Veers. The arena base for all of the figures is pretty sweet. An excellent way to display the collection.
