The first batch of 13 are curing in the moulds as I speak, and a further 4 have been located.

Have attached a pic of the ones being cast plus yolkyuk, and Aikola has generously offered to lend 3 as per the list, so only 7 to go...

Anyone have any of the following? Ideally within the uk, to avoid import taxes on the post. However I understand there is no problem within Europe, but want to check at the post office prior to posting.

The hunt continues....

Hey,

Well have spent the evening finishing the first 10 figures in an alien type green and took a few pics. Some of the moulds have been the most complex ive done adapting injection moulding sculpts to casting moulding, but have got there. phew. Wish i'd discovered these before, they are brilliant sculpts.

Next cast is prob an Egg yolk yellow. What colours were you thinking of? Have a variety of colours, but am ordering some extra pigments this week to be able to make a flesh set- loving that idea.

Yeah have a paypal account. Not sorted out the cost side yet though. Final few figures needed to be located.

:) thanks guys. yeah i'm definatly loving these figures. Flesh and aquamarine will be the next colours. Although I want to get the rest of the figures prior to making those so can ensure colours match.

In terms of loans, Im hoping to hunt down a couple of leads for figures within europe ideally, prior any loans outside europe (adds a bit to the cost with insurance/tax- Not sure how it works with import tax on a loaned item). but will keep everyone updated.

Will be taking paypal, and should be able to get the cost down to equivalent of £5-6 a figure plus postage. Complete sets will need to take priority as some moulds are complex may ruin during use though.

Well thought i'd test a deep red version too, think it works. Thoughts? I don't want it to be too near a colour than the light bed of the original figures.

I think i'm down to finding the final 3 figures to find, but will update once the next couple of borrowings have arrived. Cant' wait.

personally, i don't like the red. but then, i don't like red for any of my lrgs. for whatever reason, it seems to blur out the detail. must be a trick of the eye. long live flesh, green and light blue!

Good point dankingery, the detail shows less on red figs, similarly to black i guess. Although I like the ruby red too.

well heres the first fleshy just out of the mould. still needs finishing mind.

Wow, I just wanted to say that I would absolutely be willing to buy some of these, since I have little hope of obtaining the originals.....

I'll probably want a full set, though if I had to just pick a few I would want Octoegg, Larvegg, Eggasaurus and Vertebregg

The flesh looks great, csmhoff. I agree with Dank that the red is not ideal for seeing details. Without going into nerd mode, I beleive it has something to do with the long wavelength of the color. When I take pics with my camera, red never turns out nice. Also, while it probably looks much different in person, I think it's just too close to the original red color. I don't think we need two red colors, imho.

I think light orange is always a fun color. But again, like Dank said, flesh, light blue, and dark green are rocking! I can't wait to order me up some of these.

And, I'm not going to need a full set, so if I have to order a full, I'll be looking to sell or trade the extras to anyone interested, fyi. :)

The picture doesnt show how dark it is (hard to photograph red mixed with broken camera light meter), the original BEB are a light red, the cast red is nintendo DS dark red version much much darker. Now that sounds even geekier I guess. Want to ensure they are easily seen as not originals.

But take your point, think the light blue would look better, lighter than my GPKs perhaps more of a series 2 MIMP blue.

No worries can let you have individuals too, but at present want to push to find the remaining figures so can create a full set.

I think this shade of light blue would look awesome!

You can really see the detail with this color, and with BEBs, that's definitely a good thing. That flesh color really shows the detail as well.

Y'know, I really do like the idea of orange for some reason. I'm also partial to a light purple color, I think that would look quite nice.

Liking the light blue, and a light purple colour sounds good too. I'll hold off mixing the pigments till i have all the moulds to hand though.

Not eggzactly sure which ones im missing. Am awaiting 7 figures to check but think its probable Hardbolied, eggasaurus and 1 other.

Am also getting a list together of the entire series as I go too, as each has a manufacturers numerical 1-24 on the figures.
