I've just recently begun to try and complete my colored set
with sorting through a large pile of muscles tonight i began to randomly
pick a muscle and try and guess it correct number
claw is easy 153
spinning top 195
my favorite figure 73

but then my success rate dramatically started to drop off
i would have been only correct with another 20 or so figures
i was deeply ashamed :o

does anyone know the full set? or is close .

If i had to bet on it i'd place my money on Nate or Alex

or maybe i currently hold the record B)

Can anyone beat me?

Not I,
I know the numbers by heart of about 20 of my favorite figs, the only ones i still actively collect (going for colors). I also know a couple other easy ones, #002, #233, etc. You are probably right, i bet it is the people collecting every single fig in every color know them the best, i.e. arforbes or phillymadison

Anytime somebody needs you, don't let them down, although it grieves you, Some day you'll need someone like they do, looking for what you knew - LZ

Not me, either... I know only about a half-dozen of the figures:

#204 - Tortle
#153 - Hand
#60 - Niku
#189 - Screaming Niku
#1 - Muscleman
#2 - Terribull
#139 - Werewolf

And that's about it. I know where some of the others are generally located on the poster, but not their exact numbers.

#1, 3, 84, 143, 180, and 208

Those are the ones I know without thinking. After that I have to consult Nate’s site or a checklist I made (using the MUSCLE UK pictures). Like Nate said I kind of know the area I should look on the checklists. But if it’s one of the plainer human figures, then I usually have to look at each and every picture.

That is very hard to do. I do not know all of them, but quite a few, since I have sorted through them all numerous times trying to get as many colors as possible and putting together complete sets and the like. I think I could do it if I sat down and tried to memorize them, but I just don't have the time right now. One day though, one day... :KS:

I have to think of the character and then the number pops in my head. I'm pretty good at seeing something once or twice and retaining it. But, like Veers said, the more human looking guys, like kintaman and cyborg, don't register with my memory at all:

Muscleman- 1,122,222,234,141,110
Buffaloman- 2,58,235
Sunshine- 3,15,195
Goriki- 63
Manriki- 22
Rock- 23
Ammonite- 154
Budo- 73
Sawman- 34
Junkman- 127
Rikishiman- 108
Akuma- 111
Mongol- 152
Claw- 153
Meat- 189
Mixer- 171,209
Parthenon- 212
Leopolden- 175
Heavy Metal- 176
King 100 ton- 201
Mariposa- 166
Super Phoenix- 113
Zebra- 85, 219
Mammoth- 163
Frankenstein looking guy (last guy)- 233
Bad skin, micheline-man boxer guy- 150
treeman- 100
soccer ball- 99
hangkiller- 83
neptuneman- 16
Robin Mask- 14
Planetman- 5

A couple years ago when I was sorting and arragneing a lot of figures I prob had close to 100 of the figures memorized. Now maybe 20 or so.

1. Muscleman 2. Terri-Bull 3. Sunshine 153. Claw 62. Nakano-San 180. Dark Knight - (My Fave) 233. Von Elrich

That's all I can remember, I remember all the NAMES, but the numbers I'm not so good at. :KS: I use the method's Veers listed when I don't know one.

HA! Use it or lose it! I used to be able to number between 30 and 40 MUSCLE's when I was deep into collecting the guys. Now it's only about 10.. What's funny... is that if I didn't know the number, i knew exactly what section of the poster to start looking at, and could then find it in a few seconds

Right now a lot of numbers are fresh in my head but nowhere close to all of them. I'm pretty good at remembering what colors I need a certain figure which in the long run is more beneficial then remembering what # they are. I have all my MUSCLEs in order set up in my room so I get to study them everyday without even realizing it. Overall a very interesting study someone could do. Pretty good B)
