Maybe this is old news, but I just stumbled upon it and couldn't believe it. I have found it listed through multiple sources though, so I guess it's real?

I was not prepared for this level of insane news. My biggest question is about what we’re actually getting, because it could easily be the name alone and have zero ties to Kinnikuman. Mattel had the name and not really anything else.

On an unrelated note this does help to explain how the name started to vanish from Super7 merch previously announced as MUSCLE.

I'm really torn here. The promise of a MUSCLE movie is beyond exciting (in theory). If it leads to more readily available MUSCLE-style figures, that'll inject a whole ton of enthusiasm into this community, and it's good for all of us.

But on the other hand, I'm not super stoked at the idea of our quiet, niche, little subcommunity getting an influx of fair-weather nostalgia-fanboys. Just the sheer amount of faux-MUSCLE geekdom that's going to come out of this.... sigh... Not to mention, personally, Vin Diesel is easily one of my least favorite actors in Hollywood. Usually if he's in it, I avoid it.

Of course, it all really depends who's at the helm writing and directing, but still... This is shaky ground....

Totally caught of guard; I don't know how to feel about this. Imagine Vin Diesel in a ring as Suguru: "In that ring, I live my life a quarter-mile at a time. Nothing else matters; not beef bowls; not the fame; not team Chojin and Meat's bullshit. For those 10 minutes or less, I’m free.”

As a kid I remember being super excited for 3 movie adaptations:

1-Street Fighter
2-Mortal Kombat
3-Mario Brothers

That turned out great....

Any sort of publicity would be huge. I have a massive collection of Marvel comics whose appreciation stalled - even depreciated for awhile - until the movies came about (anything associated with Deadpool at the moment has gone nuttier than cryptocurrencies). Unfortunately I have never been able to part with anything I collect to take advantage of the situation - especially items I saved for 20 plus years.  Studios seem to be tripping over themselves to attach themselves to any sort of 80s nostalgia. And there would be a big overseas market for a movie like that. It only needs to make a few people remember how much fun they had with those little rubber guys.

This will increase value, even if it bombs. Vin is a star for casual movie goers.

Produced by Uwe Boll?     Just kidding.  He usually does video game stuff not toy stuff.     But I gotta commend he does what he wants and doesn't wuss out and some of the humor would be right up his alley.   I recently saw Bloodrayne followed by Blubberella.   I haven't seen the new Doom Anihilation movie yet but I wouldn't be opposed to Uwe taking a crack at a DooM movie.

As if Vin Diesel wasn't a terrible enough casting choice, you wanna go and add Uwe Boll to the conversation?!?

That said, it's been nothing but radio silence on the whole MUSCLE movie front. I think we can safely assume the project is dead in the water at this point.

Vin Diesel was too preoccupied with not being in half the scenes of Bloodshot to do the MUSCLE movie.
