I dont even collect these and I feel a great amount of envy for you lol also, I havn't had a chance to read all the posts. Why are you in Japan? Military? Job?

Haha! Sorry for the envy, but thanks!

I'm just here for my job. I teach English at 2 ES and 2 JHS in my little town out here in the Japanese countryside. It's a really great place to live. I highly recommend it if it's something you're interested in.

Sorry for my very sporadic replies. It's been pretty quiet on the Kinnikuman stuff for me lately, unfortunately. I have a trip to Osaka planned for early March and Tokyo for early May, so hopefully I'll be able to find new stuff then.

be9ine: Thanks! I hope I can find more fun things soon!

whygeeluck: Haha! It's funny you should say that. I am from Texas myself and know how difficult it can be to find stuff like this there. Have you ever been to Guzu Gallery in Austin? They carry a ton of import stuff! It's run by really nice people too, so if there are things you're looking for that they don't have, they might be able to point you in the right direction. I actually just sold a small bag of Kinnikuman stuff to them when I was visiting for the winter holidays. There were a few Deka Kinkeshi figures, some regular stuff, and I think some bootleg stuff as well. It was all from a few mixed bags that I found in Tokyo. Not sure how quickly that kind of stuff sells, so no clue if they still have any of it, but it might be fun to pop in if you're in Austin anytime soon. Good luck!

I went to the used goods store last weekend and found the kinkeshi in the attached pic. I spent more than I normally would (a little less than $1 per figure) but I just couldn't leave them behind. Some of them are very "squishy" and not the typical eraser-like texture of kinkeshi or the harder plastic of MUSCLE figures. I also hadn't seen the clear / sparkly ones before, so I had to grab them. Anyone have any info on these? Thanks

Also, I'm off to Osaka this weekend, so I'll definitely be on the lookout for new Kinnikuman stuff :)

Neat stuff. Hobby-Off in particular was so much fun to shop at when I was in Japan. I don't collect Kinnikuman toys, but I was really excited looking through their inventory all the same. I can only imagine how it must feel to someone who was into M.U.S.C.L.E. and the like from a young age.

Thanks! Yeah, it's been a lot of fun to have this kind of access...even if it is pretty random to run across things.

Speaking of random, some convenience store bottled drinks have recently had Kinnikuman kinkeshi figures attached to them. I ended up with 5 of the 2-packs...10 out of the 16 figures. I'm still going to try to find the rest, but so far so good :)

I haven't really found much other Kinnikuman stuff in the last couple of months. Then again, I haven't really had a chance to travel or check out shops recently. I'll just keep popping in here and posting whenever I do.

Hi all! It's been a long time since I posted (again) but over the past few weeks I've run across a few Kinnikuman things that I thought I'd post. I was out shopping in Kobe and saw this gachapon machine outside of a grocery store:

For only ~$1 each, I figured I'd give it a shot. There are 8 different characters, but I only managed to get 7 from the 12 or so that I bought...and The one I'm missing is Kid Muscle :(

Then I went to a HobbyOff not too far from that store and found this Ramen Man game:

I bought it, but haven't even opened the box yet to see if I'll be able to play. It looks like there's a lot of Japanese, but it was a good price and I couldn't leave it behind. At the same HobbyOff, they had these guys:

I didn't buy any then, but I'm tempted to see if they're still there the next time I'm in Kobe. At a different hobby / toy store in Kobe they had several packs of Kinkeshi for about ~$5 / 5 characters. I didn't have a lot of money left, but I couldn't pass up the red Spinning Head Ashuraman :D

I'm assuming it's a recent reproduction, but still fun to have in my collection!

Anyway, not too much but it was fun to run across this stuff so I thought I'd share. Have a nice day!

Sorry I haven't been around in forever. I'm always on the lookout for new Kinnikuman stuff here, but haven't seen a ton lately. I recently found this magazine for about $10 while out shopping. Thought it looked cool so I picked it up! If there's any interest, I can take some more pics and post them.

**EDIT** Just remembered, I found these a while back at HobbyOff and never posted them. Not really sure what they are other than a couple of manga packaged with "Kinkeshi Box" at the top. I'm assuming there are kinkeshi inside, but I haven't even opened them.

Those Kinnikuman nisei (ultimate muscle) figures are awesome!
I have wanted them for a long time.
