Cocaine The internet is one hell of a drug information delivery system. :)

A cautionary tale to consider before making this decision,,,

Not sure what show(s) you helped cast, but as an insider can you confirm that it's 95% scripted scenarios built around a personality? I'm pretty sure this is the case but I've had people dispute me and try to say that Duck Dynasty is "real"

This is insane, I don't know how I've never heard of this

It varies from show to show. Some shows are heavily scripted (ex. Kardashians), and others are not scripted at all, but certainly the scenario is manipulated by virtue of simply being forced into a house with a bunch of people, given tons of free alcohol, cameras all around, etc. (ex. Real World)

I don't work on Duck Dynasty, but based on my experience, I'd say that show is definitely partially scripted.

Touche!

I just figure the hyenas were his henchmen.  SO maybe accomplices?  When I see a hyena I always think of the Lion King.

Speaking of Death to Smoochy...

I used to have to dress up in costumes like that.  LOTS of Elmo, Bob The Builder, Scooby Doo, Batman, Spiderman, Pikachu... only did Barney a few times.  Woo-boy, it was hot in those things...

Yeesh.

I had to dress as Barney at a kid's birthday party once as a teenager. Hot as hell, and impossible to see in front of me, only down. I was following around the kids in a little parade and they lead me right into a tree-branch. Nearly knocked the Barney head clean off, thankfully I was able to hold on before I did. Just barely avoided an extremely traumatic experience for those kids. I would've had to play dead (wouldn't want to break character). ;)

Dahumorist-

Yeah the sight lines in those costumes aren't the greatest. You always have to take care not to trample over the kids...

Not to mention the sweat dripping into your eyes from the heat. That adds a new level of pain and blindness. Despite all this... I usually had a good time. : )

PF!

Ps I like your commitment to the character...

I work in a natural history collection.

lol... I can relate to the hot mascot costumes. I worked at a public library for a while, and one afternoon I was in a giant mouse costume to promote a "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" book reading. It really was a lot of fun. The kids loved it, but it was really hard to see and walk. Children scurry around your feet like mice, so I was constantly wondering if I'd step on one! haha

Well, since this board started I've gone from college student to profesisonal editor to elder caregiver to freelancer... as of a few months ago, I've finally succeeded in making the tradition from freelance insanity to something STEADY!

I'm doing market research for a software company, and also rewriting the content on their software review site.  Yay!

And now the part that makes me feel all crazy, self-conscious, and potentially embarrassed.  I'm shopping this around to literary agents: http://lucydecember.com/

I work at a hotel now but spent most of my years during and after grad school in higher education administrative jobs. So basically I'm the guy with too many degrees working the full time service job till the next school job/contract comes along. Oh and I sell comic books at local comic/toy shows when time/inventory permits.
