Anyone remember Pocket Shockers? They were out in the UK sometime around the mid-1990's, from Galoob I think.

Each set gave you some sort of structure and one or two little monsters which could be attached to the structure, and turning a lever or something would animate the monsters (gnashing teeth, popping eyes or whatever). Nice little paint jobs on the monsters, and I think there was around thirty to collect. Somewhere in my house, I have two of the monsters, and the leaflet that came with a set showing all of the different ones available (I'll try and scan it if I ever find it).

To my knowledge, there is NOTHING on the whole of the Internet about them, not even on Galoob's Wikipedia entry. Of course, they mightn't've been Galoob, someone else instead, but still, SOMEONE must remember them - right?

I did on my Old Geocitys Website that no longer Exists along with all Geocity sites. I scaned the Figures and the trading cards I had no Camera back then I should take Photos of them again. I did give scythemantis a Scan yonks ago of the trading cards they came with that though here it is.

The toys are less detailed than there card pictures some are totaly diffrent colours as well. Number 20 the final Figure Doc Shock was just Solid Rubber with no Moving parts and had a way different mold than his leaflet picture he only came in the play set.

Head Honcho you could only get by sending Proofs of Purchase of 3 or 4 I think and 50p Postage and Packing. I sent For him twice the first time they sent me the 2 mail order only Mimp Wresler Tag team figures (There repaints wearing black out fits of Gizard Lizard and Toad Trasher) . Second time I got the real figure though.

I do have all the Figures in this line some are Slightly damaged though and one of the playsets broke but I kept the Figure. All the bases have magnets in them that makes them move on the bases. The first 4 came with just the one figure the rest with 2 figures 17 and 18 came in larger boxed sets that had a wind up feature but only with a single figure these was much harder to find in stores I never saw the play set called The Manic Mansion ever in a store I found mine at a Carboot Sale new.

They was Created by Vivid Imaginations. Their Offical Website has nothing on the toy line either.

Thanks a lot Acidonia!

That's really lucky finding the Maniac Mansion at a car boot sale - I remember my dad going all over the place to find it for my birthday one year, and it never happened. A strange mix-up, giving you those Monster Wrestlers instead of Head Honcho, that's strange.

SOMEWHERE, I have Frog Feast, Foamin' Fido, Sting Thing, Flea Bite and Yeti Handshake. They were a great line, maybe? A dead line now, certainly, but thanks for those pictures - I'll make some effort to find the leaflet when I get some free time. Any chance of a picture of your Maniac Mansion?

Aha! It turns out, also, that they were created by Tim Young - the creator of Mini Boglins and PET Aliens! I'll email him, see if he can tell us anything more, why not?

I wonder if Yeti Handshake was based on the Yeti-in-a-crate story from Creepshow? Probably, since the same guy designed PET aliens and they had tons of movie references including a whole alien based on the horrific (and perverted) VIDEODROME.

While the flea, fly trap and crab/snail are all cool, my favorite is actually brain bash. I would love to own him.

Fighting Arenas. These are rarer than the other 2 series.

These come with 3 Proofs of Purchase.
All figures work with these.

I did a while back in the local Market see some Fear Zone series on sale still carded for 50p each sadly I had no money at the time and Ive never seen any since.

That Maniac Mansion looks really nice from the outside, nice than I thought it would, certainly.
No reply from the nice man yet, I probably came on too strong :)

Quick update on the whole thing...
Found my Frog Feast, and have managed to get myself a Manic Mansion with Doc Shock and all the other pieces besides the cauldron (and the gunge, obviously). Looking at those pictures there, those figures are SHOCKINGLY mispresented on the cards and the leaflet! Still, always after some more... Don't suppose you'd be up for a mini sale? Or some form of trading?

I just bought the Dragons Duel set off ebay. What a great piece. Too bad the wind up motor is dying. UK has some insane toy lines never released here in the US.

I was watching that on ebay and was gutted I never bought it. Haha. Glad it's gone to someone who appreciates it. Did get the frankenstein head one I remember as a kid though.
