Does anyone know if there are any differences in Argentina MIMP than the matchbox versions? Here are a few on Ebay right now:

http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_1241wt_1090

http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_1352wt_1090

Other than them being absolutely filthy and expensive, I don't notice any differences.

They are small and made out of hard plastic, check out my collection thread for a comparison picture.

I didn't even notice that! Didn't think to look. It looks so weird without the point value.

I am not sure if these are the small ones or not.
The solid Argentina figures I own are similar in
size to the Matchbox figures but the rubber is
harder and sometimes glossy.

It's one of the reasons why I have held back
from adding this section to Monster Collecting
because of limited knowledge.

I don't know why there are two different size
sculpts. Plus the Translucent kind on the packaging
I have it says Series 2. So does that mean the
solid variety were Series 1?!

I only own matchbox figures nice to see the difference between the figures, I like the detail of the Argentinean Hydra, sharp crisp lines. :)

Thanks to everyone who provided pics and information. It makes me wonder how many other countries have different variations we haven't found yet.

Darryl: Really diggin the red cromy Karnak! Nice Figure!

What about getting the solid colored cromys also up and just add the soft and hard together? It`s weired with the plastics. Same with the Series 1/2 labeling, you are making a good point.

Aikola: Loving the Group Photo, it`s a nice and very helpful photo! The Hydra is a beauty!

Behemoth: Agree! I surely guess there are more to find.

Maybe somewhere there are Tiger, Zebra or Leopard pattern Series 1? That would be really badass.

If you aren`t sure about if your figures beeing soft or hard, they are the soft ones. The hard Great Beast I have is hard as a rock and don`t flex at all. Anybody who has also hard argentinian figures agree with this?

I begin to think the hard figures are from the same run like the soft figures. Just manufactured in a differnet plastic? Maybe... The reason I think that is because there are so many deformed solid soft argentinian figures. Also many with soaked stains, glossy surfaces and stuff, there could be some figures in plastics who react more and hardened out for example. I am not sure about this and have no additional info, it`s just a theory.

Also: When I compare Darryl`s yellow soft Great Beast photo with mine hard yellow small Great Beast, the figures have the same dodgy feet, see photos.

Interesting theory there about them possibly hardening, the bad eggz obviously do that sometimes, is there a comparison to the rubber used at all? I've only got some hard cromy figures no soft ones to compare.

I understand what you are saying with regards to different
materials used. The Yellow figures are both different shades,
your Great Beast almost looks like the same colour yellow
as the Italian figures.

Disregarding the material argument, what about the size
difference! Mine are all the same size as Matchbox figures.
See photographs.

I have also added photographs of the 'Series 2' boxsets.
The checklist of figures is shown on the back.

Dielaughing - Are your Argentina figures the same scale
as the Matchbox figures?

I've got one at the moment (won a couple on ebay last night and one the week before that is supposedly a salmon translucent colour the seller said so I guess its pink translucent). But the one I have that is actually with me is smaller than the normal matchbox ones. Its a yellow Hydra and is plastic.

Does anyone know how many of the figures came in the translucent versions? Those ones in your pictures seem to get shown a lot, and I think I've seen a scorpion man like it too?

I will be interested to see what you get when they arrive.

The back of the box that I posted shows all the figures available
in that line... I have seen an example of each of the sculpts.

I have seen a similar set with the following sculpts in:
Great Beast
Ghost
Kali
Beast
Harpy
Invisible Man
Karnak
Griffin

I predict the final set contains the outstanding figures:
Scorpion Man
Zombie
Tengu
Skeleton
Witch
Hydra
Triton
Vampire

I have a small hard vampiress so she is definatley in the smaller set, regarding the hardening of figures I think this is incorrect as surely with the shrinkage would come disformation?

Not neccesery that much. Take a look at some hardened BEB, some are still looking good but are smaller.
I guess it depends a lot on the material/plastics used.
I really think the hard figures are from the same mold like the softs. More comparisson photos will bring clearness, hopefully.

I will take and upload photos of the very few argentinian figures I have here soon.

Darryl - Yes it is a super glossy yellow.

And again: The hard material of my argentinan Figure - is really hard. I mean not as a muscle or somewhat, it is hard like a stone and the fig has sharp edges. If a kid takes this in his mouth it surely ends up bleeding!

I've got a whole bunch of these figures coming and when they get here (don't know how long it takes for stuff from Argentina to get to the uk). But once i've cleaned them up as best I can I'll post pictures. There seems to be two shades of green too, whether one is hard and one soft I'm not sure. But sometime I'll have about 20 of these little buggers so hopefully can shed some more light

Great news. Out of interest does the person you are getting them from
have any further information? For example how the solid coloured figures
were distributed? Better still any packaging photographs?
