are they on clearance, or just a heavier/deeper sale?

Nope, full on clearance. Both the 3 and 12 packs have orange and white "clearance" price stickers on them, and above each of the 3 pack pegs are red "clearance" marquees. I believe the 3-packs are now $2.9? and the 12-packs are $6.7?.

This particular store loaded up on S3 3pers and S4 12pers right before the price break, but as far as I know, they never put out the Xmas or S4 3-packs. The initial price break, or current clearance depending on when it took effect, must have moved a good amount of product though. Theres still a fair amount of S2 and S3 hanging, but about three weeks ago there were tons, so who knows if this is a chain-wide trend, or just one store doing some house cleaning.

I'll be going to my Target today to check if they've clearanced. Also, I'll call my brother to see what minneapolis is doing. Also, yes I will be putting a few sets of painted slugs up for sale on eBay soon. I'll let you know when I do.

I saw the Target clearance prices yesterday too. I think it was $2.78 for 3-packs and $6.98 for 12-packs. Red clearance stickers on them. If they still don't move at that price, they will probably continue to discount them. I think a clearance price ending in "4" means that is the lowest it will go.

So disheartening to see the clearance stickers. Ugh, I wonder how good the chances are of seeing the line finished are now.

That along with no other advertising or media tie-ins... Just didn't grab the kids I guess. I'm sure the parodies of characters from the 70's and 80's didn't help too much either.

Thanks! I had painted Curly before I realized the other two were even in the series. I didn't notice until I got series 4. That's why Curly is a little cooler gray than the Moe and Larry. I must have been using a different black. I have a buddy who is a huge 3 stooges fan and he's very excited to get these from me. I'm looking forward to painting the rest of series 4. Like that Greaser you did a nice job on.

Wow I didn't even know that they were the three stooges. The paint job is really great.

I always wanted to collect slug zombies but never started because I thought that the prices were a little high. But once I saw them on clearance I got anything they had. I hate it that they are not continuing the series.

I'm just using tube acrylics. Nothing fancy. Most of my pictures are taken before I've sealed them so there isn't much glare.

question guys....do ya'll soak/clean those any special way to make sure the paint will stick to them well? also, when you do the clearcoat afterwards, do you use cheap spray clearcoat on them, or hand brush the clearcoat on them? also, how durable are they after paint/clearcoat as far as chipping and whatnot? what i was wondering is what if they get bent(say an arm/leg/gun)accidentally.....does the paint chip off if that happens?

i will generally use a toothbrush and warm soapy water to scrub the slug down and towel/air dry to remove any factory oils.

after i paint them i sit them under a 60watt desk lamp to heat up and cure,
then i use delta ceramcoat brush on clearcoat. and again heat up to dry and cure. i avoid sprays cause most are enamels like krylon which will be tacky and will not really fully cure on that soft rubber/plastic

i can bend mine without cracking. i have not tried to over bend, no wrapping someone's arm around their heads but normal small movements. i haven't overextended any appendage. and haven't had any cracks that i know of

hope this helps

Cheap paints like Craft Paints that come in the bottles will chip off very easily. Better acrylics will have a little more elasticity to them. Most any clear coat will have a little give to it, but yes you should avoid bending them.
