Dude it's the internet. You can't seriously expect everyone to be nice.

I should be able to expect everyone to answer me without doing it in patronising, know-it-all sort of way. It's obvious to me who has no respect for this site, and it's certainly not me. It's also obvious to me the people who need to take life a little less seriously.

Anyways, after all that, the T-Rex appears to be standard purple unfortunately. Thanks to all those that answered my question in the way I intended it to be answered.

For future reference, a lot of this stuff has been gone over. The bad part is, hunting the information down, the good thing is: It already happened, so the information/conversations are already archived. A better way to go about it in the future, would be to ask in the shoutbox. It will probably only take minutes for another board member to find a link to what you are looking for, without bumping all of the other threadsdown.

Be that as it were, welcome to the board.

I clicked the link & saw it was an original purple colour & rolled my eyes. The end, big deal, no need to be rude about it.

I'm being accused of being rude and not nice, when all I did was give someone advice!

I'd say that wasn't rude at all and fairly sodding nice, actually, especially when that person has a track record for ignoring the advice I give them!

I feel like I'm posting in some parallel dimension here. What is wrong with you people?

If I'm just going to get flamed for giving reasonable advice, then really, what is the point.

Protip: if you're looking for people to share their knowledge with you, then referring to them as "know-it-alls" is not helpful.

I've done nothing wrong here, this is disgraceful.

You gotta jus get to a point & think if ya haven't got anything decent to say then just say nothin, plus go back in time mate. Remember when you started how would you feel reading something like you wrote, you would feel like that member was jus been sarcastic & plain rude. When it was jus a plain forward question which deserved a plain forward answer, yes or no.

Ok obviously you didn't just give advice you told the guy that making a thread was not the correct thing to do. Which could easily piss someone off or hurt someones feelings. You are often curt with people. Not exactly rude or close to mean but not exactly nice either. Just off the top of my head i can remember several incidents. Like when some guy posted his great find from a yard sale that he was super happy about and you said it wasn't anything special and mocked him for calling it a great find. This is pretty much the same thing. So to answer your question about what's wrong with us people i'd say nothing really, we are just informing the new guy not to take YOU personally. You aren't a bad guy, more of an Oscar the Grouch. Once someone realizes that then everything is fine. But before they figure that out it's like "wtf why is that fuzzy jerk in a trash can being such an ass?" Afterwards it's kinda cute.

LOL

I understand both sides of the argument: Could Stronty have worn kid gloves? Sure. Have we all seen every question possible, asked about all of these lines that we collect? Yep. It can get old. But, it's not personal.

I said it was a good idea to check their screen is displaying colours correctly before starting a thread. If that hurts someone's feelings then they must be one hell of a sensitive little snowflake!

I didn't mock anyone, I just said my definition of "great find" differed from his. Again, if this upsets someone, then they need to grow a thicker skin, because that is not at all barbed or condescending.

If I'm ever going to be rude, mean and nasty, people will certainly know about it.

I agree BUT you know as well as i do that the world is full of sensitive little snowflakes and people with very thin skin. They aren't gonna change because of you and you aren't gonna change because of them which is why in my initial post all i basically said was that Burty needed to get used to you or ignore you. In my personal opinion you often talk down to people. Sometimes it's funny sometimes it's kinda harsh. Mostly it's none of my business.

Not that you actually care since you don't even know me but i don't think badly of you in any way. Didn't mean to come off that way if i did. Different people are different. I respect and appreciate that. It would be boring if everyone was the same.

Be that as it were, welcome to the board.

I think the shoutbox has more of an LRG veteran feel to it and would be surprised if many new members post questions there.

This thread could've ended with a simple, "It's purple" and/or "They didn't make T-Rex in blue." But then we would've missed out on the facebook-ish battle of liking or disliking 2 pages of posts. If I ever find myself worrying about threads getting bumped down or telling someone to use the Search feature instead of taking the same amount of time to just answer their question, I will punch myself in the nuts.

I don't think directing people on how to answer their own questions, is a bad thing. Not to mention, it could accidentally lead to them being further educated on the form, than just the singular question posed in the first place.

Ha I can assure you you didn't hurt my feelings in anyway - you just made yourself look like a chump! It sounds like you've got form for acting like this too. Just look at the positive vs negative reactions to your posts in this thread and you'll see how it is...

Anyways, I want to draw a line in the sand over this. Maybe I did post in the wrong area and should have thought about it first - however, if you show me respect on here, then I show respect to you - If you don't, then I won't. I enjoy using this forum and have spoken to/bought from/sold to/traded with many great people already and those are the people I'll continue to deal with.

Not everyone gets along all the time.
It happens.

Problems sometimes happen because tone and inflection don't register well through a computer.

Using the search for "blue MIMP" wouldn't have helped in this case. And we were all new at some point.

If you read SD's responce with a smile, it comes across as a playful jab at a new guy.
If you read it thinking he's being a jerk, then the responce looks like he's being a jerk.
It goes both ways.

EDIT: Keeptalk picks a person and will neg their posts for a while no matter what they say

im sorry strotie, but im going to have to agree with plastic soul, your a great guy man, you have been very helpful to a load of people on here, but you are a very negative person too,

it seems that you have a personal vendeta out against certain board members who either post wrongly about something or they do well and are happy with something just to have you come along and crush them like a roach under the foot,

i dont think your doing it intentially but while others may need to think before they post (as you clearly said dude) some of us on here need to do the same with some of thheir comments,

i'll say it again man, your a great guy who has helped out a ton oof people, but you yourself need to relax sometimes man

Hey guys, is it me or this a blue T-Rex within this lot? It could be purple, but as there are no other similar coloured figures to compare it with its hard to say.

Its purple, I got a bunch of "Blue" mimp that looked exactly like that and they turned out to be purple with bad lighting.
