I received these three hard plastic Super Scary monsters a few days ago all in the same Ebay lot, they are the first hard plastic one's I've ever had after buying a few hundred of them while trying to get a complete set. I wonder if they are test figures for the material they used to make the Super Creepies and Dinosaurs. They would be very hard to collect as they look identical - in my pictures the hard plastic figures are on the right.

I've seen (and own) a few hard plastic Super Scaries. I've yet to see any real explanation why some are hard though.

I actually just bought a pack of hard plastic Super Scaries recently. Here's the lot I got from a German seller on eBay: https://www.ebay.co....tm/322954465079

As you can see the European boxed sets differ from the U.S. one's in the fact that there's no plastic window and the wording on the front is different. Also the 2 figures displayed are held in place by some sort of plastic wiring rather than standard clear plastic blister packaging.

And when I looked at the leaflet upon receiving this not only is Hanuman missing (like UK version) But strangely all the other monsters have their proper names (like U.S. version). For whatever reason "Houngan" was mistakenly spelled as "Houngam" and there's multiple languages for each monster's description. Including English luckily! :)

One other thing is the bit on the end of the list advertising the Konami MIMP video game for the Nintendo NES. I thought was strange at first considering that only Series 1 and 2 figures were featured in the game but I suppose it must've came out around the same time of Series 4 figure release.

This must have been a used lot though as the four hidden figures weren't in their usual little bags. Thankfully they were the exact ones I was expecting to be inside. I was worried they'd be all mixed up like the European Series 1 secret pack boxes. For those interested, all info on these can be found on this site here: http://www.raumhafen...s/mimp/mimp.txt

I must admit, I didn't expect them to be hard plastic rather than soft rubber either. This has got me thinking whether these were just a test release to see how well they'd sell. Even the single packs with battle cards were basic soft rubber Super Scary. I'm pretty sure the unpainted versions that came free in Weeto's cereal were also the same material too.

I wonder if the Super Creepies had batches made of both soft and hard rubber also? If anyone has info please share with the group! :D

I just got these six hard plastic monsters in a German Ebay lot I bought because I needed the Secret Skeleton Dinosaurs in it.

Are the hard plastic ones as susceptible to the discolouration like the softer rubber ones?

Yes they stain the same as my Umi Bozu and Wildman Of China have some small red stains.

When you say hard plastic, just how hard are they? I’m wondering if they're comparable to my mysterious pink Windigo. Harder than a MUSCLE figure?

They are about as hard as the Super Creepies and Dinosaurs. Muscle figures feel pretty similar.

Here are all my hard plastic Super Scary monsters, the yellow glow in the dark ones look like boiled lemon sweets.
