So I just recently started actually collecting Glyos system figs. (Prior to now I'd picked up a few Crayboth because they're cute, but asside from that nothing.)
I had a few questions that I figured the knowledgeable folks here could easily clear us for me:
- Other than Onell itself, how many other outfits should I be aware of that are producing Glyos compatible figures? I've already found Calgrim and GodBeast. Are there others?
- How hard is it to find recent releases that I missed? Put differently, how fast does the value go up after something is no longer available on the site? For example, I rather like the most recent Super Crayboth. But I missed it. (Further back, I like the Calgrim Armodocs.) I've been gleaning what info I can from eBay. But given how few listings there are I wasn't sure if the prices there are an acurate guide.
- Does Onell ever return to colors it's used before?
- How fast does one need to get to the Onell store after a new production run drops to get anything cool? I note that things which dropped very recently are gone already.
1. The Onell blog has links on the right side for most of the other Glyos figures.
Callgrim
Banimon
Spy Monkey Creations - Weaponeers of Monkaa
Toyfinity - Robo Force & jumbo vinyl Mordle
TGB - Kabuto Mushi
LittleRubberGuys - RIse of the Beasts
Mystical Warriors of the Ring - Glyos compatible Goliath
October Toys - Skeleton Warriors
NiStuff - Outlander and alternate heads/accessories/customs
Stryker Lock (Onell & RealxHead)
Nemo's Factory
Four Horsemen - Power Lords
I'm probably missing a couple.
2. This guy is offering the Super Crayboth you want for $35 shipped in the US http://www.octoberto...hp?f=32&t=14131. A large figure like that alone costs a little over $30 from the store, so $35 shipped is probably the best secondary market price you could find. Issaris Marketplace on the October Toys forum is the best place to look for anything you missed, or you could create a thread there letting other collectors know what you are looking for and what you would offer for them. You might find someone willing to sell Callgrim Armodocs that doesn't have them listed for sale.
3. Yes. The 2014 waves were mostly a return to popular colors from the early years with enough variation to them so they weren't exactly the same as the original releases.
4. I go to the store about 5 minutes early and start refreshing the page until it loads. Sometimes it goes live a couple minutes early. I have never had an issue getting the store to load or getting cartjacked, but many people do. Some recent figures were popular enough to sell out within the first 5 minutes. A few people that missed out started posting jerky comments on the blog and the forum, which is the last thing you want to do if you ever want someone in the community to help you out with something you missed.
