Thanks and congratulations!   You get to help me pick out what color to put on next.   My army olive green is just about out.   I have that same brand 3D Fuel (made in USA) PLA Pro+ (supposedly 4x stronger than regular PLA) metallic copper which is rather orange to put on next.   Or I have Chinese stuff that also seems high quality PLA+  PLA Max whatever in Evening Sand color which looks really close to MUSCLE flesh color.   Then I have some small spindles of standard PLA of blue, red, black, and white, German company but made in China.   Look like alright quality for standard but those would be more brittle.   Can't gauge their quality by price since they were a gift.   I don't want to open more than two more at time since they collect humidity while sitting and then don't print as well (unless I throw them in a friend's dehydrator for hours).   I can try and seal one back in a plastic bag with a desiccant so it keeps better.   Also I have chrome aluminum and yellow spray paint.   The chrome stuff worked really well turning an olive green springman into metal color and it's totally smooth with no tackiness.   So simple spray paint (or least that's supposed to bond to plastic well) makes more colors available.  Anyway, I'll upload some pictures later and PM you.   Take a look at what other customs I have available.

Well my olive green is done except a little bit sticking out the infeed and going through the tube.   Probably going to feed in Metallic Copper orange or Evening Sand flesh-looking color (very similar to MUSCLE) Tuesday afternoon.   Having trouble making up my mind since I have priorities to print with either.   Also thinking about a little quarter roll of standard PLA blue, red, or black but that's less of a possibility right now, since I want to maximize my quality and those would be more brittle.   Looking at my print of the ninja in the above post, he probably would have came out smoother if I did it earlier in the roll or dehydrated it.   Those lines and other wisping/frosting show up more as a roll acquires humidity, and that olive green roll has been hanging on my printer since early October.

New epic creation... Crabshines!   One still with hands looks more like a Spidershine though.   Just gotta make sure I'm printing all three variations reliably before I put them on cults3d.

js9AZhG.jpg

One with big scorpion claws was the earliest and best print.   Chrome painted one was the most messed up which I glued three new legs on from an earlier abort.   As already seen, chrome spray paint I got from an auto supply store works great.   The yellow spray paint from a craft store goes on too heavy, further softening or obscuring the details that were already softened in the original scan models.  Both are designed to adhere to plastic well, but I won't be using this sunflower yellow on any more Kinnikuman/MUSCLE prints.

24i2CCO.jpg

Not too happy with this Chinese CC3D brand PLA+ Max, Evening Sand color.   The finished prints might actually be more durable than the good 3D Fuel brand, but I don't think CC3D prints as well and it definitely doesn't adhere to the heated printer bed as well.   It took many attempts to get started with it and I think it still trails and wisps a bit despite being fresh out of the package.   The Evening Sand color is disappointing.   It turns out super light pink after printing.  In the following picture the depiction of the regular MUSCLE color is a little distorted looking darker.   That middle finger claw custom looking more like it, is actually pink but a very decent shade.  As you can see, this Evening Sand looks sickeningly pale for the Buffaloman and God Shark prints.   Also you can see God Shark's left fist screwed up when I used my gcode file that was successful with 3D fuel.   He was printed next after the Claw which took many tries to get started.   Now that I've gotten a ways into the material, maybe the same file will print better.   But I don't think I'll be printing many of the more usual MUSCLE figures and customs before putting it back in the package and throwing on my 3D Fuel Metallic Copper.   I bought the CC3D and two spindles of 3D Fuel all at the same time.

Curious about that middle finger claw custom?    Though not currently for sale, it's by this guy on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com...ther_dimensions

Here's a bunch of stuff I got from him about five to six years ago, which I did post about somewhere on this forum before.

x0LWyif.jpg

He originally just had a not-so-great draft pencil concept sketch of his six-armed spinning head three-faced kung fu beast without any picture of the finished figure, which that alone got a bad writeup somewhere.   I don't remember what I was thinking but I gave him a chance and ordered just on that.   He rewarded me with not one, but three, with two in carded packages.   Then I ordered Geronimo the Epic Destroyer and he gave me two of that.   I ordered two or three other figures (Claw, Headhunter King, and Bayou Boba) besides those two, but as you can see he sent me some other little ones besides the four or five total I ordered.  There were also little stickers included.   Currently he doesn't seem to have any of these ones available on ebay, but maybe a message to him will encourage him.

Well in the meantime, I added Cursed Roller Ashurashine, "Black Hole" Ashurashine Magnum, and Brocken Jr on thingiverse.  https://www.thingive...rdensen/designs

Printing good now.   This Metallic Copper 3D Fuel looks great.   It should be printed at 215 degrees Celsius, and I think same with the CC3D too.   The Olive Green 3D Fuel prints alright at 207 as I was advised by someone.

Front row and back row prints are great, except a small flaw on one back foot of yellow painted one that had to be glued.   Middle row are messed up prints, though not altogether failures.

oYQg4kn.jpg

For grins and giggles I think I'll go get my old Creepy Crawler oven from my Dad's attic and set it up next to my printer.   I might still have a little bit of glow-in-dark although pink goop left if it still works.  It'll sure be something to make Creepy Crawlers in the year 2023.   I'm pretty sure making Incredible Edibles would be a real bad idea though.

RPML9T6.jpg

Picked up some more spray paint.   The cherry red is the same exact type as the Chrome and I think that armored Buffaloman looks great with it (thought the lighting in this photo is a bit off).   The blue is the same brand but engine enamel in something like Ford or Chrysler blue (said on shelf, not on can).   It goes on a bit thicker like the yellow but looks alright, maybe better if I just try to spray lighter.  The paint does turn out shinier though.  Early on, I had two messed up prints with God Shark where one arm failed, then the other.   So I sawed one good arm off one and glued it to the other, and have now given the armless one two spray painted tentacles.  The blue painted one with the messed up fist, I'll probably replace the messed up fist with a weapon.  Just for making a good looking normal God Shark, I wonder how cool it will look if I simultaneously spray the front with white and the back with blue.

cawIsVK.jpg

I actually edited this pic a good couple weeks before I actually put together the physical monstrosity or even picked up the paint or printed the tentacles in the evening sand CC3D, heh.

Oh, try saying Whalewolf out loud and sounding normal.   Now, I really gotta watch the Sharktopus series of movies.   I gotta hear actors saying Whalewolf out loud.

Printed The God Shark in metallic copper, then spray painted him and colored the shark eyes with a marker pen.

I don't think he has a theme song, but how about this?:

Oh, I checked out my old Creepy Crawler oven stuff.   The glow-in-the-dark-pink bottle with a substantial amount separated into three components over the years.   It seems to now be solidified rubber pink, a white layer, and then a load of gross clear slime, like some rotten Neapolitan ice cream mess.    I wouldn't be surprised if there's suitable substitute goop these days.   Quick search, and yes, there is.  https://www.patti-goop.com

Oops, I'm mistaken.   They did make a God Shark figure.   It just took a few decades.

hKCdCr5.jpgmDDtwrR.jpg

Official vs mine (although the caped version would be a better comparison)

It's part of Kinkeshi Premium vol.8

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284040158094 (I don't know if it's inflation or just gouging, but I paid less than this for Vol. 3 and Best Devil Fighters combined)

I think it's rather disappointing though.   It seems this one is based more on the manga while mine is based more on the anime.   It has the diagonal stripes in various places I wasn't about to attempt.   But damn, is it me, or does it look really flat and somewhat half-assed?   If you look at the official group picture on the ebay page it still looks flat.   Mine is a frankenstein cut and past with some sculpting here and there and I haven't sculpted one of these guys from scratch, but among the new kinkeshi and gashapon premium, I find a lot of them super generic, shallow on detail, and disappointing compared to the older ones.   I also don't like the disproportionately sized heads going in the direction of chibi stuff.  There are some really good ones though.

Well anyway, I suppose I am not the first to own the whole original Soldier Team.   Somewhere around 2018 or 2019 someone must have beat me to it.

I can't seem to edit the topic title but an admin is welcome to rename this The Figure That Actually Was (eventually).

As the line went on, less people probably bought Premium volumes but also this seller looks like one of those reselling Yahoo! Japan etc. listings at an inflated price to make a profit, lot of those on eBay.

Makes sense.   Well General Veers put up some pictures of the God Shark way back.   It looks a little less flat than the official pictures but still not too great.

That set was released in 2018.
