I had the same problem when I first started collecting. I could not stop bidding on lots of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures if they had just one figure I needed. I guess that's why I ended up with so many extras. There is no cure my friend. The only thing that can stop the obsession is when you finally get all the figures in the collection.
It's insane. I spent a fortune on M.U.S.C.L.E. Men, but eventually got through it when I finally got them all.
Good luck!

I can't tell you how to kick the habit, because frankly after nearly 10,000 MUSCLEs, I am still addicted. Not just to MUSCLE's either. MOTU, TF's, Spiderman, etc. etc. It is an endless cycle.
So like I said, get a second job to pay for your newfound addiction.
I'm serious.

Holy crap, Johnny! That's a lot...
I think Johnny's collection out numbers any of ours gang! Total altogether I think I have around 1800. Only 1/5 the size of yours my friend!

what are these 9 powerhouses that would define a collection you ask?
or do you really need to?
the answer of course, are the 9 colors of Krangala........

Sometimes it's difficult to stop buying even after you get all 236 because it's fun to just get a huge army of MUSCLEs. But my philosophy towards both MUSCLE and toy collecting in general is that I concentrate on QUALITY not QUANTITY. In other words, instead of amassing an obscenely huge army of MUSCLEs, I just get the ones that I really like. While it would be awesome to have a collection as big and diverse as Johnny's, for me it just isn't plausible money-wise or space-wise. So I don't buy as much, but I still have plenty of fun!
Good luck!

I agree, they shouldn't, but lately they've been pretty close. Funny thing is, a month ago, they were going for around 30-40 cents per. Be patient. There will always be huge deals to be had on eBay. Personally, I never bid more than 50 cents per including the shipping costs. Do the same, and I'm sure you will find yourself winning more auctions than you can handle.M.u.s.c.l.e. lots should NOT be going for $1 a figure!
Here's the cycle.....
Muscles average 40-50 cents per large lot on eBay.
A few newbies rediscover their love for MUSCLE.
They bid each other up high.
Muscles average 75 to 90 cents per on eBay.
They win a large amount of Muscles on eBay.
They run out of money.
Muscles average 25-40 cents oer on eBay.
Muscles return to the average price of 40-50 cents per.
It remains that way until the new crop of nostalgia seekers is harvested, and thus the cycle repeats itself.
It has been this way for at least the past 2 years.
Probably more.
My advice:
In the link section of the board is an eBay search link. Check it 2-3 times per day. See all the new auctions. Bid your limit per muscle.
In less than a month you will have gone broke from all the auctions you will have won, regardless of the current "average price" You will probably have a few S.C. also.

I see mostly the same names bidding every time, stop the hoarding!
Maybe the high rollers can agree to take a break for a bit and let the newbies win a few auctions. Does everybody really need multiple thousands of MUSCLEs? I say, let the newbies have some fun too and let's spread the MUSCLE wealth!
It's kind of like MUSCLE socialism...
