Is there any type of therapy out there for new muscle collectors? I just can't seem to stop bidding on muscle men. If this continues, I'll be broke, sitting in an alley huddled in a cardboard box, and have all my muscle men set up and talking to me. They will be the only ones who can comfort me. But I'm sure plenty of you guys suffer from this problem as well.

Worry not, Krangala is always a massive source of food......see, he eats a lot, and crumbs (and sometimes whole chickens) fall into his fleshy folds.....and become trapped there......

you can always go flab-diving in Krangala for a meal!!!!

EASports,

I had the same problem when I first started collecting. I could not stop bidding on lots of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures if they had just one figure I needed. I guess that's why I ended up with so many extras. There is no cure my friend. The only thing that can stop the obsession is when you finally get all the figures in the collection.

It's insane. I spent a fortune on M.U.S.C.L.E. Men, but eventually got through it when I finally got them all.

Good luck! e+

there was a topic in the sandbox about how to make extra money, it mostly just had to do with donating different body fluids, but there might be some good ideas in there for you, plus if you plan on living in the street you could always make good money selling drugs to other street people, no matter how down and out a homeless person is, they can always get some scratch for the crack!

Simple solution. Get a second job. B)
I can't tell you how to kick the habit, because frankly after nearly 10,000 MUSCLEs, I am still addicted. Not just to MUSCLE's either. MOTU, TF's, Spiderman, etc. etc. It is an endless cycle.
So like I said, get a second job to pay for your newfound addiction.

I'm serious.

Spiderman? Do you have the old toys from the early 80s? I'd like to see some pics, if you do.

No, all my Spidey stuff is recent. The only older stuff I have is every McFarlane Spiderman ever done. Other than that, it's all recent.
And it's nearly 10k, not over 10k. Yet anyways.

I got a solution for ya, get married, hand your check book, and nuts over to her, and never see another penny for muscles again (except of course you sneak behind her back like I do). I have the same prob bud, although I am lucky in that I only collect muscle and kinnikuman stuff, not much other.

I am of the opinion that you only need NINE Muscles to be absolutely happy.......

what are these 9 powerhouses that would define a collection you ask?

or do you really need to?

the answer of course, are the 9 colors of Krangala........

If you're obsessed with getting a complete collection (aren't we all at some time), you should try doing more trading instead of more buying. It takes a bit more effort, but it will save you alot of money.

Sometimes it's difficult to stop buying even after you get all 236 because it's fun to just get a huge army of MUSCLEs. But my philosophy towards both MUSCLE and toy collecting in general is that I concentrate on QUALITY not QUANTITY. In other words, instead of amassing an obscenely huge army of MUSCLEs, I just get the ones that I really like. While it would be awesome to have a collection as big and diverse as Johnny's, for me it just isn't plausible money-wise or space-wise. So I don't buy as much, but I still have plenty of fun!

Good luck!

This topic has bummed me out. For weeks now I've been trying to get just a few figues but prices are just getting too high. If you want a huge pile of M.u.s.c.l.e.s, fine but don't forget about other collectors. If you really don't need more, leave the auctions for people who may really want the figures. M.u.s.c.l.e. lots should NOT be going for $1 a figure! I see mostly the same names bidding every time, stop the hoarding!

I agree, they shouldn't, but lately they've been pretty close. Funny thing is, a month ago, they were going for around 30-40 cents per. Be patient. There will always be huge deals to be had on eBay. Personally, I never bid more than 50 cents per including the shipping costs. Do the same, and I'm sure you will find yourself winning more auctions than you can handle.

Here's the cycle.....
Muscles average 40-50 cents per large lot on eBay.
A few newbies rediscover their love for MUSCLE.
They bid each other up high.
Muscles average 75 to 90 cents per on eBay.
They win a large amount of Muscles on eBay.
They run out of money.
Muscles average 25-40 cents oer on eBay.
Muscles return to the average price of 40-50 cents per.
It remains that way until the new crop of nostalgia seekers is harvested, and thus the cycle repeats itself.

It has been this way for at least the past 2 years.
Probably more.

My advice:
In the link section of the board is an eBay search link. Check it 2-3 times per day. See all the new auctions. Bid your limit per muscle.
In less than a month you will have gone broke from all the auctions you will have won, regardless of the current "average price" You will probably have a few S.C. also.

Maybe the high rollers can agree to take a break for a bit and let the newbies win a few auctions. Does everybody really need multiple thousands of MUSCLEs? I say, let the newbies have some fun too and let's spread the MUSCLE wealth!

It's kind of like MUSCLE socialism... e+

Though I sympathise, I also understand......

c'mon guys.......let a newbie have some of them rares, and at a good price!
