Of heard that the original NES is one of the worst NES games EVER! So has anyone played any of the other games on later systems? Any of them any good? Which is the best?
PF!
are you referring to the Original Nintendo game M.U.S.C.L.E.? If so, yeah it sucks, and i'm not sure if it came out on any other systems, I may be wrong. .

Yeah I was thinking of the original Nintnedo. I brought up muscle figures to a friend last week... And his ONLY memory of them was that they were a terrible NES game. Doesn't remember the toys or anything, but figured that they must be terrible if the game was any indication.
I've heard of the one on GameCube - I just assumed there were more. Did anyone play the GameCube one?
Maybe I'll track it down and give it a try!

I have the Super Famicom (SNES game) and it's pretty average - I can't figure out how to do the moves and the instructions are in Japanese LOL

Allsport -
LOL... yeah... that might be a problem. I actually started googling around to see if I could find a translation for you...
No luck! BUT... while I was looking I found THIS:

Apparently there was an Ultimate Muscle game on the Gameboy Advance (I had no idea) and this an emmulation of it that you play online. If you don't have a good internet connection don't bother though. Needs the speed.
Have fun.

I'm not a big gamer, but unmasking everyone as Neptuneman and Big the Budo with my brother was damn fun.

There are loads of Kinnikuman videogames, but only a couple of M.U.S.C.L.E. / Ultimate Muscle games. I'm not going to go list them all, but will talk about the ones I've spent hours playing. So..
Regarding the first Famicom/NES game, it is actually quite fun. It's simple and it works. I love it. An updated version of it was also released for the Wonderswan in Japan. It has more characters (from Kinnikuman Nisei) and the graphics are quite nice.
The PS2 version called Galactic Wrestling is basically the same game as the one on the Gamecube, but with a different look. The GC version looks like the anime, and the PS2 version looks more like the manga.
If I would have to name a personal favourite, it would be Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix 2 Tokumori on the PS2. It was only released in Japan. It's a proper 3D fighting game that was originally released in the arcades. The cast is huge, the game is really faithful to the franchise so you feel like you are playing a proper Kinnikuman game as opposed to a regular fighting game where the cast just looks like they're from Kinnikuman. And as a bonus the game also comes with the first Famicom game and another Famicom Disk System game on the disc.
Oh, and there is a nice curiosity called Muscle Fight. It's a free fan made 2D fighting game for the PC. The creator(s) put a lot of love and effort into it and it shows. Everyone should give it a shot.

Also, hard to find now but if you search the forums, there is a NES rom hack of Ultimate Muscle: Team Aho vs GenX. Me and a friend of a friend worked on it, and I think the final verison is somewhere on the forum.
And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

In addition there are actually two versions of the box. The first has scoring in the back of the box which can be folded out to be used as a hangtab, and the second does not. If you have a 'cardboard hangtab' box like this that means your copy was produced prior to 9/87. If it doesn't have that, then it's a later copy.
I've only ever seen one sealed cardboard hangtab copy, and last I checked mine was the only one on the grading population report indicating no other copies graded. Non hangtab sealed copies are around once in a blue moon sealed and are on the population report but are still quite challenging.
(For the uninitiated there is a grading service for sealed games that's been around about seven years and they keep a census of graded examples similar to what is done for action figures, comics, coins, etc
