This past weekend I visited a Goodwill that had a whole pallet of the Alien and Roboforce packs for $1 each. The price point seemed right so I picked up a few. I agree that the rubber is far too squishy, but I do like the idea of micro-sized tanks and aliens, and the detailing isn't bad on them either. Most of the aliens have little backpacks and/or weapons.
Unless I miscounted, there are a total of 5 different grey robo sculpts, plus one gold and one red, and 6 different aliens, plus one gold and one blue. I believe each set contains a total of 36 figures. It's also nice that you can fit the entire set into the tiny little pod, and the other included accessories add an extra play function (tweezers and magnifying glass) and the pull-back vehicles work very nicely as well, excepting that there's no way in hell the figures are staying on at the speed the go.
I think overall the Squinkies series isn't very interesting at all, but these two packs are pretty fun...especially for $1 each.
It was a bit difficult to photograph the detail on these guys since they're so small and monochrome (especially with my phone camera) but here are a few snapshots.
