When I think of Gross-Out Toys, my mind tends to go back to the 90's. But, in truth, slimy boys toys have been around FOREVER!

Starting with the Grandaddy of all Goop Toys...

and the Sequel...

The origins of any and all slime and bug toys and things like GPK and Trashies all start right here!

Any favorite Gross-Out Toys among you guys and gals?

Hey Pocketmego!

Have you seen these new versions sold at your local Toys 'r Us?  Since you like things... creepy... and crawly... :-)

I know they brought back Creepy Crawlers in the 90's.

But, didn't know they were back or still on store shelves. I'll have to go have a look.

Thanks for the heads up.

I found a box of my 90's Creepy crawlers stuff a few weeks ago but didn't have the oven anymore; just a bunch of the plate molds and some plastigoop containers that had long since leaked and covered everything. Did anyone else have that pencil-topper goblins set?

I bought something similar to those Lil Booger figures from Dollar General the other day that might be made by the same people. It's a little 1.5" GitD alien that came in a clear egg filled with slime matching that description. It really is more like a putty than traditional slime like gak or the TMNT ooze, and being translucent and relatively malleable makes it a nice photo prop. :)

Also, since it hasn't been mentioned yet I'll do the obvious and say:

Great stuff, man. And yes. We can't forget Madballs. I may have to try and find that "putty" slime for use with pics and what not. Actual slime is just too much of a pain to deal with these days. We really do loose our affection for it at a certain age. ;)

And I shall see your Madballs and raise you BLURP BALLS...

And some slime...

Some of these are such a trip down memory lane!!

If you guys are into gross stuff, did you know you can eat the Doctor Dreadful stuff too!  You can find these at TRU right next to the Creepy Crawlers.  Some of these sets look awesome!  I don't own any of it, but if I were a kid I would be all over it!

Man, that Monster Lab was a great sociopath playset.

Nice; I had two of those Savage Mondo Blitzers leftover from childhood but I never remembered buying them so I have no idea where they came from. Didn't know the name till now; though I'm pretty sure I sent them to someone a few months ago as freebies in a trade ;)

Keeping it going. Toxic Crusaders: "They're Gross...but they still get girls!" (awesome tagline). A buddy of mine (who incidentally does not collect toys) has a huge tattoo on his arm of Toxie waving the American flag. ;)

I had seen the uncut Toxic Avenger movie when I was a kid. It was actually almost too offensive. These days I'm a total movie gore hound. I love trashy, nasty Drive-In B-Flicks more than any other movies. But, I wasn't quite there as a kid. Years later, I was in Highschool when I first heard about the Toxic Crusaders and was SHOCKED that they were turning that movie into a cartoon and toyline.

But, ya know, it worked. The cartoon was legitimately entertaining and funny in a pretty stupid way. The toys went hand in hand with the Ninja Turtles and brought the GROSS!

Troma has made the entire run available on their Youtube Channel.

The Intro by UNCLE LLOYDIE is GOLD and should not be missed...

"I had no friends, no girls to hug me...Until, I got radioactive UGLY!"

"Now me and the boys fight against WRONG...And, we're hideously DEFORMED!"

LOL CLASSIC!

Aside from being cornerstones of a generation past, what could Bonkers candy and Madballs possibly have in common? You're looking at it up above. Scary, ain't she? The story I'm about to tell you is one of subversive chicanery, because when you've got a lack for better terms, you cash in on fifty cent words. Perhaps you've noticed one company stealing magic from another, putting out a similar product that's just different enough to avoid copyright issues and the consequential royalties. Laws are static, but as we're about to see, sometimes they're vague enough to get away with some wacky shit. So, what's that brown monster lady's story? Read on...
