Weren't muscle casted from the same molds as kinkeshi? Mapman kinkeshi didn't have the cap. You don't see why someone would do this post production? lol. Have you seen some of the 100,000 painted, cut, kit bashed monstrosities that people have created with post production figures. It's nothing more than a messed up figure.

No I really don't. I have seen thousands of monstrosities but I wouldn't group this figure with those that are painted, cut, chewed up etc. With that single photo it looks like the top of the "plug" is wider than the hole in which it is capping. Meaning someone would have had to remove the top of the head to make the hole and then create the plug separately to fit from a different figure. And then glue just the bottom of it so it stayed in place. If this is the case it would have taken a little bit of effort. I just don't see what the incentive would be. It doesn't look that messed up to me but rather clean. Personally I don't think that it makes the figure that different. So why would someone take the time and effort to create a figure with a plug that essentially looks the same. And not a plug that was removable or entirely glued in but just enough so you couldn't remove it.

If it is simply a circular cut into the top of the head then it wouldn't be that strange to me but that is not what it appears to be.

I see what youre sayin'...but its a good question as to why someone would do it if they did lol..i say pop it open

First off, thanks for that hot water tip.

Your right about the plug being wider than the hole in his head, just by a few centimeters.

It also makes him taller than a regular mapman by a few centimeters.

Using the hot water method, i was able to pull the plug enough to one side to see that the tip of it is attached to the inside of the head, its all one piece.

Im sure its not a mold variant, but more of a manufacturing flaw, from the plastic getting extruded or some such buisness.

Im going to get my buddies camera soon, so i can get some better pics than my shitty 8 megapixle camera is capable off.

Millimeters i hope!  hahaha...That would be a big mapman if he were a few centimeters taller....

Was it all jagged and rough looking when you pulled that part off?

If it popped out, then it can not be a flaw/error. The injection molding process couldn't create an error like that.

It looks like it's a yamaka custom. Like everyone said.

I didnt pop it out, using the hot water trick i was able to wiggle it enough to see its attached to the bottom inside of the head, its all one piece.

My guess is that it is just a molding error where the pellets weren't totally melted when they were forced into the mold. Either that or part of the figure got stuck to the top of the mold and the rest pulled away a bit while it shrunk.

Top left corner there's a mapman with a sprue that makes it look like he has a horn on top of his head. Love it.

I've seen something similar before with injection moulding, caused by either an interrupted injection stage (so an initial push followed by a pause and then a second push) or material being left inside a mould and the plastic or rubber being injected over it.

(I had a temp job working in a plastic pigment company where I had to mix up colours and test the blend by mixing it with the plastic pellets and injecting it - and doing it badly to start lol)
