I wouldn't pay more than a buck a figure, I don't know about you guys...

Yeah, but if you watch them through to the end, noone buys them, unless it's like the last few that someone needs to complete their collection. There are alot of toy sellers on eBay who have no clue the value of MUSCLEs, so they start them off high, and then have to relist them at a lower price untill they get someone to buy. That's mainly what it is.

Yeah, i havnt really noticed too much of a change in the price that muscles are going for nowadays. Its cool though that there seems to be a neverending flow of muscle auctions. Ive been watching ebay for like three years now, and maybe not everyday, but every week there are lots of new auctions coming up.

Speaking of auctions, you guys have to read this article in the new Discover magazine. It is about John Nash's (the guy in A Beautiful Mind) mathematical economic theories and the rationality of competition in the context of events like auctions. It does a really awesome job of explaining why people overbid and stuff, a must read.

Maybe after i get back from vacation this week, ill transcribe it and post it to this board for you guys to read. Everybody who had something to say about the $50 satan cross auction would really like this article.

Hey:

It's like you guys have said,"It's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it." Actually with the increasing interest in M.U.S.C.L.E.s I've been surprised that not more Kinniku related items haven't started flooding the auction pages. I remember before Mobile Suit Gundam came out in the States (via Cartoon Network's butchered W), if you perused eBay you'd maybe 4 pages worth of stuff at most! Now, it's just plain nuts you can't go on for any broad seraches anymore. Well, maybe with it's growing interest we'll see more products and hard to find items.. It would sure help our colections.

Haahaahaahaaaaa! It must be 13 red Satan Cross's. Haahaahaa. Like I said, alot of sellers have no idea the value of M.U.S.C.L.E.s. Whenever I sell something that I'm not familiar with, I always look at past auctions for a value range. That auction is funny though. Reminds me of an "Old Tyme Toy Store" auction. Five dirty M.U.S.C.L.E.s for $7.00 plus shipping. Haahaa.

I have always thought that if we could come up with a really great trading forum, a lot of the high price eBay woes could be avoided. I know that I have bid on M.U.S.C.L.E., and paid for 30 figures or so, when I really only wanted 2 0r 3 in the lot. I just re-sale the ones I don't want, but it would be really nice to simply trade with other collectors. I would not doubt one bit that the same M.U.S.C.L.E. I am trying to get rid of, someone else is actively looking for.

I've noticed how people start off their auctions high priced like you stated, but for only a small amount of figures. I have also noticed that people don't want to go over a certain price for all sizes of auction lots. It usually ends up at around $20 to $30 for small lots with good figures and the same for lots with a large amount of figures. Kinda doesn't make sense, you'd think the more figures, the higher price. I guess it depends on what figures are in the lots and how much a person needs them. :D

I've seen small lots with a satancross go for over $100 just because of the satancross! B)
