Well hello!  I've just been hanging around for a little bit now, but I always love to show off my stuff.  As the title implies, I collect a little of everything.  I set out with the goal years ago to collect a little of all the fabulous 80's lines, especially those I played with and had as a kid.  I stumbled onto this site looking at old Battle Beasts and MUSCLE men.

These pics are from various evolutions of my collection as I've moved over the years.  The super green walled pics are from my newest "Nerditorium" as I like to call them.  I decided to step it up a bit with the framed favorites collections.

I really like how this MUSCLE shadow box turned out.  They were the perfect size and look great against the blue back.

IMG_47131.jpg

As you can see, I'm still missing a ton of Battle Beasts.  I've got to start saving up for some acquisitions.

I made this lightsaber myself!  You can't be a true Jedi until you finish that phase of training.

IMG_39831.jpgIMG_45921.jpgIMG_43241.jpgIMG_38981.jpgIMG_41701.jpg

Here are some pics of the previous Nerditorium.  I tried to jam in as much as I could.  I have a ton of Mighty Muggs, I loved those suckers.

nerd-toy-collection2.jpgnerd-toy-collection4.jpg

Gotta love Ugly Doll vinyls.  I wish I would have bought more when I saw them.  They skyrocketed in price after that.

nerd-uglydolls.jpgnerd-toy-collection5.jpgnerd-toy-collection8.jpg

The last gap there in the 25th Annie G.I. Joes was for the elusive Matt Trakker.  My wife eventually got me one for Christmas.

nerd-toy-collection10.jpg

These next couple are from my room from High School.  I was a bit obsessed with Star Wars at the time, as if the pics aren't evidence enough.  I took this picture years later when I came back to pack it all up and get it out of my parents house.  My wife was thrilled with that prospect, haha.nerd-toy-collection14.jpgnerd-toy-collection13.jpgIMG_43701.jpgIMG_46101.jpg

Haha, thanks guys!  I am a freelance artist, so I get to justify it to my wife that its all "research" and inspiration.  Its always been my dream to someday create my own line.  That's part of what brought me here.  I would love to create a Muscle-like line.  I might try a Kickstarter like OMFG someday when I can pull it all together.  That would be a dream come true.

Beautifully displayed. I'm interested in how you go the MUSCLE figures, or any of them to stay in their upright positions.

Looks like fishing wire or clear twist ties, you can kinda see it in the MUSCLE's box.  I think I'm gonna steal this idea.

Thanks again for the replies! I work from home and so this has become an awesome office.

I got the original idea for the shadow boxes from littleplasticman and his blog. He did one with his Star Wars figures and I figured I'd run with that idea and do it with a variety of toys.

The boxes are just cheap $20 ikea ribbas. I measured and spaced the figures and then punched holes and ran 24 gauge wire around their shoulder sockets. It usually hid it pretty well. On the Muscles, I had to just run it around their waist.

The boxes aren't quite deep enough for some figs like the MOTU and Turtles. I had to jerry-rig a couple of them. It worked in the end though!

Thanks again everyone!

It's been said, but those color-backed shadow boxes are killer.

You should post some links to some of your art as well. To be honest, I don't love the concept of the Four Swords piece you posted (not a fan of unnecessary mashups), but the execution was exceptional. Would be interested to see more.
