BATTLE BEASTS ROCK AND SO DO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted 15 February 2015 - 08:47 PM

Hi guys I have gathered a rather large SD army over the years and due to a custom project Eric and I are looking into doing I decided I needed to organize the little buggers.
As I started pairing up the correct numbered beast with correct numbered weapon I noticed that the weapons that were still attached to the spree were the wrong weapon.
I decided to check out the guide on here for the SD beasts to get help and I noticed that they are also pictured with the wrong weapon.

Do I pair these guys up with there correct weapon or do I pair them up with the weapon I guess they were released with?
I really don't want to start cutting weapons from there sprees not sure sure really what to do.
There a bit of a unorganized mess right now so I'm not really sure where to go with them.

Personally i would prefer the right weapon if they were to be recast! But if Ericnilla is recasting all of them , we should have all the weapons so we could cut them off the recast to match the right beast if desired.

If any are still have attached weapons, I'd leave them as their are not many of those guys floating around. I pair my loose weapons with the correct beast.

Whats the recasting project? New colors? Or reproducing them as close to the originals as possible?

Really if you would start cutting loose the weapons from their sprues or sprees (whatever) just for a custom project (with all respect) I do not think that is the correct thing to do because we are not repacking the original Japanese boxed BB figures with the correct weapons either are we!? From the historical perspective its good to leave them attached so we all know they came as such back in the days although from a display point of view I can imagine pairing up the correct weapon and figure is important as well.

Dont complain Jay and just get the loose weapons and figs you need for you project instead of cutting them loose, you already have a few so I am sure you can find the loose missing ones as well LOL

These guys came with incorrect weapons intentionally for 2 reasons.

1. So the buyer would be forced to collect them all in order for them to have their correct weapons

2. To make them more colorful, so when the buyer got a blue lion with a carp weapon, their red carp would now have a blue weapon.

I used to have a list of who came with which weapon but I ahve no idea where it is now.

Yea I wasn't planning to cut them just for the custom project but mainly for the displaying issue.
However Ive had them for a few years and I havnt done so due to the history and preservation of the toy line which I am also a big supporter off.

We would never copy the SD color as we want there to be a big noticable difference between a real SD and a Custom SD. Allowing collectors to continue enjoying to collect the real thing also.

I may put the ones still attached up for trade for some loose ones / parts then.

Thanks for your help and sorry to be a complainer it was just a frustrating night trying to organize these little guys.

Well I would set the SD's up with the weapon that they originally came with rather than the weapon that they are suposed to have. If there existed mint in box ones, you would consider them to be complete with their original weapon that was attached to the spruce. That way you wont run into problems with the ones that are still attached. I like to display my SD Battle Beasts with my Takara Diaclone mini figures and bases because they are a similar scale. It's a great crossover.
