I tried tossing my hat into the ring for this one but hit multiple roadblocks and thus lost out.

10 sealed Bad Eggz from Simba toys. Unfortunately the listing was in Germany and the seller said he did not ship outside of EU. The UK is still part of the goddamn EU! Also, the business seller only accepted direct bank transfers - No PayPal - therefore no protection from eBay on the transaction. In my books, a business seller with no PayPal seems a bit shady despite having a 99.8% positive feedback rating.

 

I was willing to chance it as the starting price of around £44 was minimal however, i also had to try setting up a post forwarding service in another country. Even after trying multiple forwarding services in both Germany and Ireland eBay insisted that I was unable to bid because the seller did not post to those areas. It was only after I got onto eBay's website rather than using the app, that I was able to place bid. As the auction reached the 30 second countdown I went to place my maximum bid only for the auction to abruptly end. Little did I know that the connection I was using at the time was shocking and providing me with a delayed response. 

 

It just wasn't meant to be....

I got it. I split it with a friend, and we'll be opening all of them! Maybe except one!

We might make a video too.

Will have some card backs available for you guys, maybe a little trade, nothing expensive..

 

If I were you (those not getting 10 sealed BEB's), I would be happy for me. haha.

 

I have a relatively new daughter. and I haven't bought any toys since I had her which is 9 monthsd ago. This was perfect as a little toy break.

I reside in Germany (originally from the U.S) and within Germany on ebay it is quite common actually to just receive bank transfers or an überweisung as they call it.

 

But when sellers do this they only ship within the respective country.

 

Nothing really shady going on

 

Its really the most econonomical option for the seller when you take into account the ebay provision and the paypal provision on top of that.

 

Which is why I think sellers choose that option, besides it is also a headache dealing with a lost package and almost always Paypal sides with the buyer when it comes to disputes.

 

I sell stuff (doubles & odds and ends) from time to time on the German ebay site and only accept bank transfers and only ship within Germany.

 

Of course when shipping abroad the only way is the Paypal route etc

 

I have never had a bad expereince yet in the last 7 years since first joining ebay Germany and doing bank transfers. But am sure people have experienced shenanigans as well.

 

I see these (Bad Eggz and Gormiti I think) at flea markets all the time, is this a thing? meaning stuff people really dig and collect?

Honestly, I'm just glad to see someone here got it - especially considering you're opening the majority of them and letting the rest of us get a look!

Also, congrats on parenthood! I'm a relatively new Dad also. I mean, you probably actually did me a favour as I can spend that money on my other half and the little'un haha.

If you're interested in trading, selling, or whatever - I'm very interested.

Every day is a school day. I learned something.

I asked around about bank transfers and international shipping options and everyone told me to avoid it like the plague. Although I was still willing to try.

Yes, people are really into Bad Eggz, I can tell you. I grew up with them, and they left a lasting impression on me. If you see these at flea markets all the time, please pick some up for me!

Parenthood is one of the most stressful yet rewarding things I've ever been part of. It's totally rad!

And no need to feel bad about it, man. The way I look at these things is - if I don't win an auction or something similarly not 100% in my control doesn't turn out how I wanted it to, then it just wasn't my time and wasn't meant to be. Something will work itself out one way or another.

And thanks a bunch for adding me to your BEB list. Much appreciated! I don't know anyone else who is actually into these but they're probably my favourite toyline with MIMP in second place.

I am glad that a board member got it. A friend linked it to me shortly after it was sold and I was heartbroken that I missed it.

 

I know that the Bandai cards as well as Galoob (without Simba) are both hard plastic as I have talked to people who have opened both. 

 

The only soft fig I had came from Germany so soft would be my guess with these, but I am eager to find out!

 

Also, I would be very interested in a card back when you end up selling them off!

I have a soft red Larvegg that also came from Germany, so it's definitely a possibility that they're soft. However, if they were released as soft figures in such a big and rich country as Germany, wouldn't we see more of them? My friend who I am splitting the lot with says the soft ones come from Spain, I have no idea what his sources are, though.
 

We are all hoping for hard plastic, of course. I guess I'll be opening a red one first since they seem to last the best as soft ones.

 

Regarding the cards, my plan is to trade them off for maybe a few MUSCLES or something... We'll see. Itchy gets one free.

 

I have to be honest and tell you, if they're soft, I might be a little disappointed, of course depending on how fresh the yolk is.

And it never really crossed my mind that these would be softies. I know it's entirely possible that they could be, but I've a feeling otherwise - I really hope you don't prove me wrong.

 

It's insane to think that despite loving them at the time of their release, I stopped buying these as a kid because nobody at school even knew what they were. And now you can barely even find one out of the packaging since their popularity has blown up astronomically. Although, it's great to see they eventually got the recognition they deserved.

The 10 bad eggz sealed are soft, it is very easy to know, the presentation is different with each other.

Here in Mexico almost nobody collect soft eggz because with time they get ugly with cracks etc.

Anyway, it's a good purchase, congratulations.

Aww man. That's a real bummer. I really had high hopes for these.

If a sealed softie is going up for grabs at a reasonable price, I'm interested purely for the purpose of display.
Although, I do much prefer the original artwork compared to the Simba one however.

So how brittle are the soft ones? Is it anything to do with the moisture from the slime affecting the rubber and eventually drying out?

That's a very impressive set. Mind if I ask how and when you acquired these? Also, maybe it's just me, but I think they should be on display, or at least some of them should.

I notice in the second photo of the hard bad eggz there is a 'Ban Dai' stamp in the top right corner, that is missing from the hard ones in first photo, so there's 2 versions of that cover style, both confirmed to be hard?

Yeah, I mentioned earlier I have spoken to people who have opened Bandai as well as Galoob (without simba or bandai) and they are both hard.
