These are the pictures of the Series 1 Matchbox in different colors that I found on Ebay in different colors than have previously been discovered. Yellow Hydra, Yellow Harpy, Red Haniver and Olive Haniver.

I am not sure if they are real, protos, or just amazing customs. They have all the right markings on the bottom and look to be the same size.

The Olive Haniver looks a little faded (or it could be a different color). What do you guys think?

I emailed the seller to ask where they came from. Lots of comparison pictures below:

I think it would be near impossible to fake them that well. They really do look like the real deal.

I wonder if someone in the factory just put in the wrong colors one day or something.

Awesome find!

Their quality leads to the conclusion that they must be official, or at least semi-official, figures from the factory.

My thinking is that it is probably significant that the seller of these is in New Jersey. That is where the arcade premiums came from, and also where those flesh prototypes came from too if I recall correctly. Otherwise it's a heck of a coincidence.

Hadn't made the New Jersey connection. That just makes it more interesting. Was there a factory for MIMP in New Jersey?

My understanding is that was kind of a central hub that they all passed through. Like the warehouse or headquarters is there. I can't be certain about it as it is just what I have heard some people from the Jersey area mention that a lot of stuff starts there from the factory and then gets distributed out.

Seeing as I've just woken up over here I'll just simply reiterate what I posted on Facebook, in that I think they're genuine, due to how well made they appear to be, with no telltale extra vent holes of shoddy workmanship. It's crazy with the NJ connection too. Without that connection I'd have been much more sceptacle about these. Obviously something was going on over in NJ back in the day ha!

Also, do you ever go to bed Stronty ha!? Just noticed the time of your above post

Wow! :o this is a great find Behemoth.

Makes me wonder how many other matchbox sculpts were made in a different colour. I recall seeing a Red Kali and a Yellow Catoblepas in a mixed lot of loose mimp once or twice. I'm well aware those two exist "vice-versa" I'd know, I previously owned the Monster Clash game with all original figures.

I'm interested to know how much these rarities would be worth individually. Are we talking Series 3 prices maybe? What does everyone here think?

I lucked out and got them for just a bit over $1 each. No idea what they would go for the other way. My extra Yellow Harpy is going to a friend on here for some of his custom work.
