I put together a respectable collection of Battle Beasts and Laser Beasts in the early 1990s.  I thought I paid a fair amount back then, but I am blown away by the prices I see some of these guys bring these days.  I had most of my set by about 1995 and picked up the last few Laser Beasts I needed by around 2000.   I quit paying any attention to the BB market after that as I became totally obsessed with collecting fantasy and sci fi toy soldiers.  I know my collection is by no means complete by today's standards, but I have all of the standard issue Battle and Laser Beasts and several of the chase figure sets.  I am hoping that some of you guys who know the market these days can give me a ballpark on the total value of the collection.  I think/hope this turned out to be a very good investment.  I made a special page on my blog for the collection which can only be accessed from the link below.  If I did it right, you can't see this page from my home page.  Some of the pictures are of empty boxes because the figures are pictured in the beast line ups.  Assume that all of the boxed sets pictured are complete and in good condition, but all of the boxes have been opened.  The carded figures are still sealed.

FYI - I am not interested in selling the collection or any parts of it at this time.  I am just very curious about what it is worth.

To put an exact price on it will be hard as you´d have to go by all the pieces one by one and today the condition is everything so the slightest paint damage issue on the LB and even the BB can make quite a bit of difference in price. But there´s no doubt you´ve built yourself quite an interesting collection back in the days and considering the prices you´ve paid back than I dare to say its been more than a solid investment if you´d look at it from that perspective. Apart from the regular Beasts you also have some other interesting pieces there that´ll drive up the price of the collection. Of course the absence of some of the LB guns is quite an issue knowing the current prices and how hard it is to find loose guns these days.

To give you a (wide) range in which you can think value wise I think you´re somewhere in the ballpark anywhere between $7.500 - $15.000 I´d say.

This wide range is based upon the fact prices fluctuate so it depends upon the period you´d sell them, IF you can find the right person for it and the condition of each piece and whether or not a figure is complete with gun. Collections like these are rarely offered for sale though so its hard to find a reference for it but think the estimated range is pretty fair looking at what you have and looking at some of the prices in todays market.

So considering you had most of it back in 1995 and bought some others a couple years later I think you did pretty well ;)

Enjoy the Beasts!

Thanks much.  Of course I never looked at it as an investment at the time.  It was just fun to collect them.  I focused on fantasy and sci fi toy soldiers because of obsession an because they were a lot cheaper to collect.   I'm glad I kept them around.  I have a large set of shelves in my basement that I like to turn in to a figures display every few years.  I think I kept the BBs because they make such a cool looking display when you have them all together.

No problem.

They display very well indeed and they even become more cool when you set them up in larger groups side by side as that really gives them the army feeling.

Wish I´d started collecting these in 1995 or even in the beginning of 2000 as that´d have saved me quite a few $$$$ but even though I, and all other more recent and new collectors, have paid much more for each individual item than you did they´re more than worth it imho

That sealed set of Mexican Beasts is pretty nice as well, I´ve never seen them in their original packaging before.

Hope you´ll manage to create a display space for them that´ll do them and your memories to them justice and once you´ve done that please share some pics!
