are there some colors from g1 that discolor more easily than others?

i have this one red figure, and his fingers and toes are dark. it looks like someone might have lightly burned them, or as though he had been lying face-down in some dirt or whatnot.

Green and neon orange fade easily, as does salmon. Light Blue and Magenta get dirty easily. Dark Blue, Red and Purple hold thier colors quite well, but the purple has a tendancy to film over.

Magenta tends to lighten up slowly, but it does so noticeably. Leaving figures in the pool and in the sunlight rapidly speeds up this process. Like Johnny said, it is most evident in the Green, Light Orange, and Salmon colors.

This reminds me of a topic on this board in the past, "Bleaching M.U.S.C.L.E. Figures, Can It Be Done?" I think now that summer is starting here in Arizona, yes believe it or not, I am going to try to bleach a neon green M.U.S.C.L.E. by leaving him on the roof all summer long. I'll get back to this topic at the end of August or September.

Some stains on M.U.S.C.L.E. figures can become permanent over time. Ink especially because it sets in over the passage of time. You can lighten it with cleansers, but it always tends to stay no matter what, and there is always that evidence that it was once stained by something.

*cheesy joke alarm* yup, greens discolor easy but in stead of brown the turn pee green, so if flesh browns, then i gues the effect on greens is peeing!

It always seems to me that light blue figures are the ones that get discolored. They get this wierd white film on them. I havnt noticed much difference between the other figs, most of the stains i see are obviously not from natural causes.

Well, I told you I'd update you when I could on the other thread for this...

Here's the status report: Dark Blue Pyramid Sunshine: No change.
Orange really skinny guy who I think is #033: about three tints up on the front side.
Flesh w/ inkstain: Inkstain has faded, but I didn't notice any difference in his front and back coloration...

I think I might put out some extra figures on the window seal of the apt.

Once i get my web cam installed might be able to take day by day pics. and then put them together to form a time lapse view of a fading muscle.
