Hey guys, I found Xar this week and his wings are silver. I think the general idea was that the US version was blue, but maybe not? This came from a blue, 2-pack bought in Kentucky. Were the previous US Xars found in those yellow packs? I remember thinking that the yellow packs might be aussie stock used to test the FOP market in the US, so have we found out what Australia's Xar is colored? I am thinking that aussie Xar may be the blue one, while the US version is silver. Sorry, I cannot provide pics, because I don't have the digital camera I was borrowing from a friend anymore, but I assure you it is a silver, almost white color. I've been gone for the past week, so has this topic come up already?

Do you mean that his wings are completely silver, or just the dots? That would be very intriguing, if all the US Xars thus far haven't actually been the US versions!

Wow. You know, this makes a ton of sense, that we haven't seen the real US Xar until now. The secret figures were never seen until recently, Australian and Canadian Xars appearing from US eBay sellers... fillers while they ramped up production for the US figures!

I don't think they ramped up production, because the date on the back of the package is 12-03-04, and the first FOP packs I got back in late February were also made in December. I guess it has just taken a while to distribute the packs (some Wal-marts I've been to don't even have them in yet) and that's why we haven't seen the silver Xar and secret figures until now. Speaking of the secret figures, do we know if the secret figures are identifiable by country somehow?

You know, it could be distribution...after the holidays, a lot of toy sections were stagnant while recovering from the holidays and taking inventory (I'm so lucky to not have to experience working in a Wal-Mart during the inventory season, or work in a section requiring it more regularly).

And no, there couldn't be any possible way to differentiate secret figures, at least not the shadows (the only ones sighted thus far). Hypers and Crystals could have different paint apps, much like the international hyper promos. I don't think the FOP line would do shadows in different colors for the secret figures (yes, I know there's blue shadows), but it's possible.

The Xar I found also has silver/white wing dots. Found in a five pack in Illinois.

That's strange. It kind of makes the numbering system pointless if you can't identify one 156/500 from another country's 156/500.

Cool, looks like the US Xar probably is silver then.

Hey, I emailed Moose last night and they got back to me pretty quickly. Here is their response to my question about Xar country codes.

Xar codes:

USA - Silver
Canada - Red
Australia - Blue
All other countries range from white, red, blue, yellow.

Yes they were originally released in US as a test market - they now have
their own packets and Xar colours.

The last part confirms that the yellow packs were aussie packs. I wonder which country got the yellow dot Xar? Might blend in well with the gold wings.

They also confirmed that the secret characters are not identifiable by country and that the yet released figures (Slag, Eek, etc.) are out in stores. (anybody seen these yet?)

I think the UK's is red and blue, something like that. There was also that one guy who ran a Xar auction with a tiny, blurry picture of him in-package without any noticeable dot colors... which was likely the yellow-dot version, but no idea what country it was.
