So, UFC finally set the Aldo vs MacGregor match, and it's going to be at the MGM Grand instead of Cowboys Stadium. I think Aldo is going to eat MacGregor, but a lot of people seem to buy into the Conor MacGregor hype train. What do you think?

I'm a huge Conor Mcgregor fan. Stoked for this fight. I think Conor will have a easier time with Jose then Chad, but who knows, Jose has been doing this for awhile now. Personally I think Jose was matched up with some dudes that had no business in there with him, but we'll see.

How? How does Aldo equate to less than a three-wee training camp Mendes (Who was, by the way, dominating MacGregor for the majority of the first round until he flat ran out of gas)?

I'm honestly baffled by that assertion.

I'm going to ignore the troll, but I'll happily address the fact that Aldo abandoned his usual strategem of controlling range with vicious leg kicks, and went charging in headfirst.  He got what he deserved, IMO. You have to take your brain into the fight.

Now we get to listen to Conor's nuthuggers for the rest of forever.

Well, I call it a delayed response, but call it what you will. I figured why debate about the fight when I can let the fight kill the discussion for me.

On the other note, I hate the fact that Jose went out the way he did, he was a great champion, but that's the fight game. It's not always fair, hardly ever is.

On another another note, am I alone on being stoked to see Weidman get his face turned into hamburger meat??? I'm not a fan of Weidman, in my opinion he's barely scraped by and has had luck on his side more times then not. Stoked Luke is the new Middleweight champ, I think he'll be a good one.

MacGregor won

He legit lead with his face.

As for Aldo having luck on his side, he only had one other loss in his entire career. I don't know where you are getting that at all.

Weidman? Ugggggggh. That dude is really talented, but he came out on Saturday looking like he was sparring, and never really fully engaged. He's not a bad fighter, but he fought really badly.

No, I don't think Aldo had luck on his side, dude was a great champ. Weidman is who I think scraped by and had luck on his side more times then not. I'm stoked for Rockhold/ Weidman II though, whenever that may happen that is. I think it'll be a little more competitive because Weidman will want to show he's a true champion, but I think it'll end the same way.

Aldo taught us what happens when you let the other guy decide how you're going to fight. It's a shame. So what do you think? An immediate Aldo rematch, or Conor/Edgar? I'm either/or on it, really.

I think Weidman needs to get a fight or two under his belt, before challenging for the title, after that performance.

Haha, let me tell you, I'm glad I don't have to make that decision. A lot of people are going to be pissed off, moaning and groaning when the decision is made. People are going on and on and on about Edger deserving the next shot at the title, then there's other's going on about if Ronda gets an immediate rematch then it's only fair Aldo gets the same treatment, bla bla bla...

Frankly, in my opinion, for over a year until it finally ended last Saturday, all that had been talked about was Aldo/Mcgregor. There was a world tour, then Aldo got injured, then the fight was rescheduled, everyone had to go through two long drawn out promotions for this fight. I think at this point in time we all deserve a break from Aldo/Mcgregor, lol. From the business side of things, Aldo/Mcgregor 2 makes no sense right now and I think that will play a role in the decision making. That will piss some people off but that's the difference between Rousey and Aldo... Rousey/Holm 2 is going to generate a lot of attention and a lot of money. As far as Aldo/Mcgregor 2 goes, at this point in time I don't think it would even get up there with Mcgregor/Mendes numbers.

With that all being said, I'm not saying Edger is next either. I think Conor may take on the winner of this Dos Anjos/Cerrone fight, but we'll see. I think though, to really line the stars up just right, he should take the Edger fight next, that makes the most sense to me but his coach wants him to take a break from 145 because of the weight drop, who knows!?

I agree with you on Weidman. Who do you think is next for Luke? I'd kinda like to see Rockhold/Belfort 2 but I think that would give Belfort two title shots in a row, so maybe that wont happen.

Sorry for talking and talking and talking, I tend to go on and on sometimes.

I get what you're saying about the McGregor/Aldo hype machine... But honestly, that's how I feel about the UFC in general so it doesn't really matter who is fighting: we're going to see the material treated exactly the same way. I do think Aldo deserves a chance to reclaim the title, but that is mainly because he was willing to fight whomever during his reign. I totally believe that Edgar has earned his shot, too. I think Edgar is a great fighter, and I really like how he represents the sport. He's a true pro.

As far as the Rousey/Aldo comparison... I mean, yeah. They are practically the same situation, as far as booking rematches. If they handle both differently, it SHOULD raise eyebrows and controversy.

As far as Rockhold, I was under the impression that Romero/Jacare had contendership implications... Which I hope they think twice on. That division is pretty f**king thin right now. If it were up to me, I'd get Bisping a tune-up, then give him the damned shot, because at least he'd make it entertaining. Romero is a athletic-yet-somehow-still-sloppy cheater.

Yeah for sure, I'm not saying it's fair, but the UFC is thinking numbers more then fairness in these two situations. For me as a Mcgregor fan, I'd like to see Mcgregor/Edger at UFC 198, Mcgregor/LWchampion at UFC 200, then Mcgregor/Aldo 2 at UFC 205. Which all three events happen in 2016 and Edger gets his shot, Aldo gets a chance at redemption, and Mcgregor gets something new with moving up to LW, that's how I'd like it to play out.

As far as Rousey, I'd let Holm fight Tate between now and UFC 200 sense Ronda kinda has to wait it out. That way Ronda isn't really getting the immediate rematch, so there no one can britch, lol.

Yeah, watching those fights I was also under the assumption the winner of the Romero/Jacare fight was getting the next title shot. I've heard sense then Romero doesn't deserve it, don't know why, don't pay much attention to that class, maybe I will now Rockhold is on top, lol. It's crazy how mma is man, I don't know shit about Romero/Jacare but I really thought Romero was going to really putting holes in Jacre's face just looking at him, nope, lol.

See I never got that. To me, I've been a fan of Holm sense before she was signed with the UFC, so I'm one of few who were excited about Rousey/Holm. Rousey/Tate and Rousey/Tate 2, neither of which went to UD, SP, D, they were both finishes by Rousey. I mean, do we really need to see Rousey put Tate in a third armbar? Not to mention Tate has lost to Cat Zingano and Sarah Kaufman and hasn't even rematched either of those girls to get her win back from them yet. I'd say actually make it Holm/Nunes next considering Amanda Nunes has one four of her last five, only losing to Cat Zingano. Then the Rousey/Holm 2 and if Tate gets through one of the two girls she's lost to, give her the title, idk.

The thing that kills me is: If there were a legitimate ranking system, this wouldn't even be a conversation.

I totally agree with you there. I don't understand the divisional or the P4P rankings, at all. I tried to come up with my own P4P list but I think I thought too long and hard and complicated the process for myself, lmao.
