Have been wanting GI Joe Kre-os but this will do for now. Wish they were a little bigger, look to be Squinkie size. If they would make some little vehicles or playsets for them, that would be pretty awesome.

More up close pictures. Paint apps are sketchy on some: http://www.hisstank....l-images-11486/

I can kind of dig those.
I see a wealth of customization opportunities.

Bah!

I feel exactly the same. I hate stands on figures. They look stupid and lazy. I don't even mind stuff that can't stand up on it's own. :KS:

They can be cut/sanded down.
I will scour the ends of the earth*, for a decent Firefly sculpt.

Not a big fan of giant head figs, makes them look way to silly for me personally, now those old cereal/pack in GI JOE mini figs those were awesome.

I see 2 Cobra Trooper variants, 1 Viper, no Crimson Guard, no BATs and no specialist Vipers. At least with the SWFPs there were loads of 'Trooper' type army builders, I'm not so interested in these if you're going to need to plough through far too many Joe doubles to build up some good sized squads of Cobra infantry.

I've been hoarding Mega Bloks Halo figures to resculpt into a Cobra army to scale with my TFs recently, I think I'll carry on along those lines rather than pick these up as my mini Joes. If these even make it into a second series Hasbro need to seriously increase the amount of troop builders, particularly if these end up being sold blind or part blind.

Well, they do only show half the figures on the slide where it says there will be over 80 of them. The thing that I don't like is all the generic ninjas. I only collected GI Joe until 1986 but I don't recall any of those in the comics, figures or cartoons since becoming reaquainted with the line as an adult. Seems like this is their new way of trying to bring kids in again, making everybody a freaking ninja.

with the newest joes that came out came the sudden onslaught of all the ninjas. the only real ninjas from comics/toys back in the years you were collecting were snake eyes, storm shadow, and jinx. they used to be my 3 fav figures....now they make so many diff ninjas it's head spinning.

Yeah, I didn't even like when they made Snake Eyes a ninja (now he's a "ninja commando" lame, lame, lame). The relationship between he and Storm Shadow was interesting but I only liked Storm Shadow as a ninja. This current trend seems even worse than in the 90's(?) with Ninja Force. When they make Roadblock half a ninja in the movie, with his "Gun-Kata" , it really does cross into the realm of ridiculousness.

but technically if you think back to the comic books, snake eyes and storm shadow were raised/trained together. so i always classified snake eyes as a "ninja" even back in the day.....even though he was labeled as a "commando". i believe the "origin of snake eyes" story was gi joe a real american hero marvel comic book 26-27. a great read for sure

Oh yeah, I had those as a kid but I started reading with issue #3 before there were any ninjas at all, haha. They were in a LRRP unit in Vietnam together and then trained together later after Snake Eyes' family was killed. The being raised together thing was from the crappy first movie.

I was always more into Storm Shadow, than Snake Eyes, but my main dude was Firefly. Especially, in the more recent stuff.
Go figure, I would be fascinated by a character dedicated to trolling IRL.

Yeah, Firefly is one of my favorite 3 characters. I don't think he's been done really good in the comics or cartoons. They should show him infiltrating and blowing shit up A LOT. He was underused in the early run of the Joe comic and then they made him a ninja later on. And in the cartoon, he was pretty forgettable. The only thing I read recently with him was when he was taken out easily by GI Jane in Hama's new series. Lost interest in the run after that.

Neat, but already being a collector of the 4 inchers...I just can't afford 'em! Would be kinda neat if they brought back the mini-figures made as pack-ins form the late 80s and made some mini playsets to go with them.

your right, i had remembered in the comic the store owner stealing that kids gun, and got cornfused and thought that was a young snake eyes..........but my mind got contaminated with that super shitty gi joe movie storyline that was incorrect. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

those weren't cereal pack ins(that i know), they were released packed in the 3 3/4" gi joes.

I want to see them up against MUSCLE? What does the plastic feel like? Rubbery, or plastic-y?

they are "bendy" same type feel as slug zombies.....but probably not as durable. i'd go with more rubbery feeling than plasticy feeling. they are awesome though. i'll see if i can post a direct pic here from my phone in a sec

So...
They come off of their bases? I seem to remember them being photographed on little black discs.
If so, great!
That little Beach Head looks great, too. Storm Shadow and the Cobra trooper, too!
