What do you all think about the Full Color Japanese kinnikuman kinkeshi re-releases? Does anyone know how many were made? I have seen a few in Japan that do not show up on kumachans.com....
What if they re-released all 233+ in full color here in America? That would be a dream.

I like a few of them, but the whole painted thing isn't my bag.

I like the color schemes on a few of them a lot. I think it answers the question, "What would these figures really look like if they were not, for lack of a better phrase, black and white?"

However the paint would probably rub off eventually and not look as good. M.U.S.C.L.E.'s often always look new because they are so tough and virtually indestructable during play.

I like the originals better, of coarse!

At least they are in the same molds as our M.U.S.C.L.E.'s, so they do give some sense of familiarity.

Actually I've got a few (Kinnikuman, RobinMask, Ramenman, & AkumaShogun) they're just the regulars with an acrillic based paint job on 'em. I don't think the paint jobs are all that good (only the Anmie color scheme) they lack any hiLights or shadows.

They could have done a better job painting them. I have seen members on the list with some awsome paint jobs and the micro af figures ROCKED!!

it's hard to say if i like them or not
once you like something like musclemen you tend to hate anything that
changes there appearance.
when ever i saw that people had painted over there musclemen i thought they should have there arse removed

but i think i'd like a few just for show

The guy in the UK that apinted the MUSCLEs like Citadel minatures rocked! His painting technique brought out the details in the figures unlike the painted Kinishis which have no Shades or Tones.

well regardless, he does do wonderful repaints.

crazyest, there is a muscle auction up right now that has painted figures. unfortunately, the picture is too far away to see how good the paint jobs are. plus i only like about 3 or 4 of the color schemes. the UK guy needs to selll some of his. i would definitly buy if it was one of my favorite guys....

Actually the Omegaman that Johnny had the MuscleUK guy paint was nice! I liked that one and the RobinMask w/Cape myself. how about you?

well i like them all, but i would have to say that "Kinnikuman" and "Leopoldon" are my two favorites. It just boggles my mind when i think about the size of those and the patience it would take to do such a great job. hey what number is omegaman on the poster? i can't get a picture in my head of what the unpainted figure looks like....

How many people here remember the old MUSCLE Championship Wrestling site (AKA, Vivid MUSCLE Entertainment)? It was a fan fiction wrestling league run by Jason Radneicki. He was the first person to paint MUSCLEs (in my recollection), and he did some pretty incredible work. The site has been down for a few years, but there's a temporary in-progress site up at:

Back in those days, with the MCW, the MPS, and the weekly updates to my site, it was almost like the renaissance of MUSCLEs on the Internet...

Although it was also kind of like the Dark Ages, since we knew very little about MUSCLE collecting and even less about Kinnikuman.
