A couple of weeks back, my daughter and I were in one of our local Wal-Marts. We always check out the dumb claw machines for cool "buddies", (her term for stuffed animals). I screwed up on the big prize, and instead won this dumb little fart instead:

She was instantly very dissatisfied. The irony of it all, is that she actually asked for this guy. There was another one with his back pressed against the window. But when I won this one and she saw his face, she hated it.

At any rate, now that you know how we happened across this little bugger, I'll explain the prank my wife and I have been doing to this poor child of ours. We pretend he is alive, and randomly place him around the house in areas where our daughter typically goes. Her dollhouse, her bed on her pillows, her favourite spots in the living room.

This started off with magnificent results. Random loud grunts of frustration echoing throughout the house, some stomping, and him being whipped at us saying "I DON'T WANT HIM!!!" It's starting to wear off though, as now she is taking the nice approach. She just calmly brings him to one of us and says that he is actually ours and walks away.

TL;DR My kid hates a stuffy and we keep introducing him back into our daughter's spaces with funny results.

Do you guys do anything similar to torment your wee ones??

Funny.

You should raise the stakes.

Go win more of the same guy she hates and stage them in small groups.

My wife and I are dying at the thought of this.

I think we're going to Wal-mart today!

My wife bought 7 of these little stuffed mice. She gave my daughter one and then added another beside it wherever it was left at night when my 4 year old went to sleep. She couldn't understand it and we just told her they must be coming inside at night. Fun stuff, cheap entertainment!

That's pretty hilarious.

My kid has a pretty awesome temperament, so stuff like that doesn't really take with her. She let's stuff like that just roll off her back.

Bad news: No funny stories, Good news: I have a rad kid.

That is hilarious.  First of all I'm surprised you won something out of the claw machines at Walmart.  I dont think I have ever won anything out of a claw machine.  The most similar story to this that I have to share is our Elf on the Shelf.  I personally love that thing.  My daughter would love waking up every morning and searching the house to find where the elf was on that particular day.  This particular picture she wasnt very fond of, in fact it made her cry uncontrollably even though i personally thought it was hilarious.  So the elf had to leave her an apology letter and some goodies (toys and candy) the following day to get back on her good side haha, thanks to Ironmask for that idea too btw ;)  I'm looking forward to this year, my daughter is a little older so she can maybe appreciate some of the mischief I'd like the elf to get into haha.

Doc, if your kid does something to you while you sleep, I think we'll know why.

Doc, that is amazing. Our Elf got up to some awesome stuff in this house also!

My daughter just found the second one. She then went to locate the original and she had them both in her hands in disbelief with an "OH. MY. GOD." I told her that he brought his brother, and he told me that they're bringing their other brothers soon.

This is more fun than it has any right to be.

Oh man, this thread has been cracking me up. I was the victim of this kind of thing all the time as a kid, having two much older brothers.

Between this and the mysterious red dolphin, there's lots of stuffed animal mania around these parts recently.

I am sorry to say that the prank is dead. Since the twin brother arrived, she has actually embraced the pair, and they are a part of her horde of buddies.

Epic sadness.

We have a finished basement where all of the video game systems are. I like to leave our old baby monitor hidden down there, then me and my wife make spooky sounds/whispers into the other piece. Then we just listen for our son to come running upstairs. So hilarious!!!

I also bought an air horn a while back. That's pretty fun in the morning, too.
