From my experience, the Gold MIMP aren't worth close to the money in the second set of auctions. The rare ones I have seen go for $100 and the average for $20 to $40. But I have only been watching the gold prices for a year or 2.

I estimate a normal gold MIMP for 20-25 $ and a 25points MIMP for 40-50 $... not over.
Because they were found in the packages with the same probability as the other 4 colors (red, yellow, green and blue). For this i don't consider them very rare!

But as for every particular color, also the gold color is more valued than the "normal colors"...and this is the reason because they are very expensive. And therefore every seller adapt himself to the prices of the market...

 

I see on eBay $100....150...200 for a Gold MIMP.... DAMN !!

For the moment I have 13 gold MIMP, bought for a good price from some italian seller... i will buy others only if the prices will be decent!

Infact they're not rarer than normal colours but instead I've realized they're more common than standard colours. I'm sure about it because I opened two new boxes of that edition and the probability to find gold figures was very high, something like 48+48=96 total figures splitted in 5 total colours I found around 30/32 Gold splitted around 15/16 in each box!

The Italian figures are smaller and not as well molded as the Matchbox or Sonrics.

So, how much is worth a Gold MIMP?

I recently sold a Gold Goblin for 30€ on Ebay.

I've seen other MIMP gold sold at very high prices, but honestly seemed exaggerated to me and I wanted to maintain an honest (?) price.

I bought 8 bags at a thrift store for 5 €, but I do not like the Italian edition of MIMP 2001, and those golden MIMPs.

It depends on the figure. They seem to run from $30 US for the more common ones (like Werewolf and Phantom) up to $120 US. The popular sculpts like Hydra, Great Beast and Behemoth all run to the high end. That's been my observation. The average figure is probably about $50. If you are selling on Ebay, I would offer a Buy It Now of $100 and a Make Best Offer and see what you get.

To be fair, those are just prices I have seen from US Ebay. Not a guarantee that you would get the same amount.

Those prices are absolutely unjustified, the Gold MIMPS are not more rare than other colors.

Just for a statistical test, watch this video. A guy opens 48 packages of 2001 italian MIMP and look at what percentage of gold monsters he finds!
